Why do I need an 800? If the most I'll use is 1 2x 10 and 1 4 x 10 won't the 500 be sufficient? Or would you take the 800 for headroom? Anyone got any thoughts on the amps?

Need a Jazz bass style bass but with better components, woods, electronics, craftsmanship and sound. Fender are just too much of a factory build but I love how a jazz bass sounds. need something that is going to play and sound similar to a J bass but still keeping that original feel. I've been to Bass Direct and tried Xotic basses which I liked. Clover I have heard good things about too? Plus I want a 5 not a 4. Bassheads thoughts?

The £5k budget is for amp and bass. I'm thinking maybe Fender jazz deluxe 5 with mark bass little mark tube 500 and a mark bass 4 x 10. Or maybe a genz benz shuttle and a vanderkley 4 x 10 or......... a genz benz with a bergantino 4 x10. Thoughts? I've been to bass Direct all day today and I have only warmed to this gear. However, obviously I didn't try every bass in there. Maybe a bass modelled on a j-bass with better components would be an option.

I'm totally new to the in depth world of bass. I've played for years but I want to step up in my knowledge. I fortunately can just afford some good gear. So I want to get it right. I'm on tour with a London Community Gospel Choir. I have 5k to spend on gear. hense the questions so I can get it right.
