P Bass body finish is a really crap quality needs stripping down and redoing be great for a project.
Photos don't really show the wood grain coming through in places.
Wood I believe is Alder (is a from a Squire Affinity Bass).

I've owned 2 Rics over the years (a 64 and 74), both were okay.
I don't think there's anything wrong with them (Rics) I just couldn't get on with the necks with my sausage hands.
I ran mine thought Orange Amps and Cabs and they did sound good. I do agree that they are a little over priced but If people are still willing to buy them at these prices, then the prices won't drop.
I like Fenders but not everyone likes them for one reason or another, It's all down to personal choice in the end. -

Got these about a year ago for a custom 58 P-bass I put together, have since replaced them with some vintage fender 58 PUPS.
These are really nice and had a few comments on the lovely sound at both high and low tone levels.
The specs are Alnico 5, 42 AWG enamel wire, 10.7k output and have waxed cloth wiring shield.

stunning!

Interesting, but lacks the "Human" feel to it. Our jobs are safe (for now ).
Plus lacks a "Bass Face" -
