Speaker Cable
Bollocks! I hit the buy it now by mistake :)

  2. I own, have owned and have played through in no particular order: Trace Elliot, Ashdown, MarkBass, Crate and Ohm, Marshall, Peavey, Ampeg, Behringer and probably several amps. I have never had any trouble getting a good sound as long as I start with everything flat, and then either tweak what needs tweaking or leave it alone. However I have also see people twiddling the same amp and getting a crap sound by not setting input & output volume correctly, pressing pre-shape buttons & adjusting the graphic eq into smiley face.

  3.
What about the H&S issues here. You should have warned people that they "may contain nuts".

    Can't be too careful. :)
Nah - not a problem. They are for ornamental use only.

  4. Another good pedal for making a bass sound more open & acousticy is the Behringer ADI21 brown 'acoustic' preamp. I use it with both an NS-Design CR5M & Ashbory.

The Ashbory is better for portability (obviously) and sounds wonderful. The Pahoehoe (Kala) polyurethene strings are 100x better than the rubberjohnnie ones, but being so weenie and fretless intonation can a hit & miss. I'd swap my ashbory for a fretted Kala in an instant if I could.

The NS upright is a much more physical experience to play and looks great on stage, but its strength is that it offers something unique rather than trying to be a louder doublebass or a bigger bass guitar stood on its end. It can cut through in a two guitar band and the B string is the best B sounding string of any bass I've heard (at 42" scale length helps!)

I could have them refinished in something that looks very much like chocolate if you like.

  6.
Got this from GUITAR TIPS site

Remove some but not all of the tension from the strings, clean & polish the guitar, and then put a little lemon oil on the fret board. Put the guitar in its case and store it where it won't get too warm, cold, or humid and won't get bumped around. A good place is an interior closet.
Sounds like a guitar tips article written by someone who doesn't understand what a truss rod does.

    Glad there's no permanent damage.

  7. That is lovely - looks very much like my '90 MIJ '62RI P

A likely cause of the cutting out issue is that the jack socket has lost its spinginess - I've seen that on a few japanese fenders. If so its a ten minute job to upgrade it to a switchcraft 1/4" mono jack socket (£3.50 from axesrus)

Great price - good luck with the sale

  8.
Not much call for possibly re-finished peanuts.
Now Monkeynuts and you get my attention.
I found some monkeynut shells there as well, but sadly the contents were missing.

  9.
When you say 'sofa' do you mean 'uncle's loft'?
Nah - I'm not pretending they're vintage planters dry roast or anything. They're probably M&S extra large salted
Are they still the original factory colour?
under the fluff, yes they do appear to be.
Interested in a trade for these?
already have enough of those thanks

  10. Whoa - just notice the "no access to the pots" - a bit of a schoolboy error. The answer to one of the Qs "In order to create the sealed cavity to the correct volume i had to include the electrics cavity, if i had added an standard access this would have compromised the cavity." is a bit odd - even if that was the case it is no excuse for making access to the pots impossible.

Reading the rest of the blurb, it seems the bridge p/up isn't a piezo in the bridge as I guessed earlier from the style of the bridge, but another MM type buried and not adjustable.

    Just plain weird.

  11. Just found some peanuts down the back of the sofa. Very good condition once you've brushed off the fluff, but the salt may need replacing. There are around eight in total, but to be fair I will split them into pairs unless anyone really wants all of 'em.

  12.
I gigged the hohner the most and it was great for touring with but I guess I'd go back to the 70/80s P-bass and actually get it set up as opposed to thinking 'this doesn't play well!'
I owned my '81 precision for over 20 years and for most of those thought it was a bit of a dog before learning to do setups & taking it to the gallery to get the frets levelled & crowned. It still weights more than John Prescott & Eric Pickles combined though.

  13. I sent him this:
Thanks for adding the pic. Unfortuantely this confirms (with other details) that this bass is not a genuine Fender mustang but a Squier bronco modified to look like a mustang. Mustangs have a dot marker between the highest two frets which is not present on a bronco or on the one you are selling. I suggest you change the listing to reflect this.
& got back this
hi, I have checked by an expert and you're right. I made a bad purchase.
I now remove the instrument from ebay.
    I thank you immensely
& it has indeed been withdrawn.

  14. I didn't get as far as looking at the feedback :)

What jumped out at me was that the dot between the last two frets (nearest the body) is not present - indicating a bronco neck.

I wasn't sure about the truss rod access as the pic wasn't clear, so I asked him if he had a better pic - now added. Yep its at the wrong end. I'm going to tell him (politely) that it is a modifed bronco.
