  1. To get a feel of what a short scale such as a mustang might be like to play, tune your bass down two semitones and put a capo on the second fret.

     

    I play mustangs (currently own five) they're my favourite bass, especially the JMJ roadworn. The orange vintera II looks rather tasty and I have one of the orange squier classic vibes which is a very nice cheaper option.

  2. I use flats so I probably do it differently each time — I can't remember.

     

    When I get a new bass though, I usually take all the strings off and treat the fingerboard as appropriate before putting on a set of flats. Am I the only person who makes sure a bass is spotlessly clean when selling it?

  3. From the pics it certainly looks identical to the 1990 japanese '62 reissue Precision I used to own. I can't see the strap buttons clearly, but it looks like they might have been swapped out for staplock buttons. I recall there was also a 'hootenanny' strap button on the back of the headstock. It also looks like someone took a dislike to the finish on the back of the neck on yours for some reason.
