  1. SOLD SOLD SOLD....

    Hi Guys

Thanks for dropping by to view my bass for sale.

This is a GMR Bassforce that I purchased last year but I need to move it on to finance some gear, it is with great reluctance but I have 6 basses and running out of places to hide them from the missus.
There are a few minor dings here and there but too tiny to photograph and the usual fine scratches on the back but nothing too severe, have to look closely to see them.

The woods used in this bass are beautiful and you know the quality is there when its held in the hands. GMR have used MEC jazz pickups and all Warwick hardware, I think this model was about £1200 when purchased new. It was a hard choice between the other basses as to which one to let go but they have there own character. :)
It will come with a hard case for transport to ensure safe delivery, this will be about £25-30 depending where you live in the UK. The bass is based in N.Ireland

The photos are taken in different light but the one closest is the upright one beside the Sandberg

If you need any more pics let me know

I have added a photo of the side profile of the neck, my thumb is exactly 24mm wide for reference

  2. I bought The mcgregor Bassmate off Brian and a great guy to deal with, well packaged and great comms 10/10 all the way. The combo is in perfect working order and condition, I could not be happier. :D
A wise and knowledgable great guy 12/10, extra 2 points for his great effort in getting the combo to me in good time and shape. :)

    Cheers Brian

  3. Hi Guys

I need some help here, I recently purchased this lovely Bass made By GMR but thou I am happy with the body and neck the pickups are not doing to for me. I have also a Warwick Streamer LX but this has the 3 pickup configuration which gives it more warmth.

This is fitted with Warwick hardware and MEC pickups[attachment=178667:DSC_9754.JPG][attachment=178668:DSC_9759.JPG][attachment=178669:DSC_9755.JPG]

The bass sounds a wee bit too trebly and I would like more bass oomph. Have a look at the bass and tell me what suggestions you might have. By the way this has a push pull knob for active but it does not have real active circuitry so it misses that big punch. Passive does not bother me anyway so this may give more scope.

Many thanks for your replies in advance.

    Brian

  4. What a great idea, taking a photo of this beauty on the ground as if it has just grown from a tree, shaped, treated with care and there for the taking
why oh why do you tempt me so near christmas, can't get the wife to buy this as a prezzie LOL, good luck in the sale as its a beaut. I have a sandberg and they are very well made.

  5. Hi Again

I am not very familiar with mcgregor amps but can you give me some info on this combo.
600 watts through a 12 inch speaker sound impressive, what are the dimension of the cabinet
and is the sound nice and rich, warm and bassy. Sorry for the questions but I can't seem to get
any reviews about this model so I am relying on your good self. I currently have a Ampeg BA115 combo

    Regards
    brian

  6. Just bought a Warwick streamer LX from John, smooth transaction and he took good care of the packaging, this bass was lovingly looked after. A proper bloke to deal with, good to get people like this on BC, cuts out flea bay and their profits.

  7. I won't haggle over the price but I was sure if the bass was in a hard case then its covered by PF but they don't usually take it if its not in a case. I once has a musician bass delivered to me in a padded guitar bag with no tape or nothing just a postal sticker on it :o and it arrived in good nick but he was lucky LOL
So let me check tomorrow and I will get back to you.

  8. I live in N.Ireland and have posted and received quite a few basses from England and its typically about a fiver or so more via parcel force so not too bad. I will check tomorrow how my piggy bank is holding out  in case I need to rob peter for some cash LOL,
Need to stop buying more basses but the WW is nice.....

  9. I am really interested and was wondering what would your absolute best price be, I like the Warwick's, i play a sandberg bass and they look quite similar, German made again. I will of course need it delivered.

    Cheers
    Brian

  10. Just played the bass tonight through my amp with the band and they were really impressed with the sound, it plays better than the precision I once owned and this bass will be going nowhere great range of sounds and boy does it growl. I had the drummer asking me to turn down the volume as he was getting his symbyles rattled  this baby rocks.........
