  1. So I used to be a bit of a pedal addict (what do you mean, "three different distortions seems excessive??") and this was a great solution for carting those little boxes of joy to and from practice. Soft but semi-rigid, velcro on bottom and with moveable dividers to keep things separated, velcro tabs for running your main leads and a decent-sized main pocket (big enough for an instrument lead or two) on top. Pretty sizeable too - crybaby pictured for scale... Collection - or I'll deliver within a reasonable distance - from Bristol, or I can post so long as you're ok with it being folded for shipping (which should be fine...)
  2. As far as I was concerned when I bought it a few years ago, this is the perfect practice amp for bass. Small(ish), not too heavy, closed back cabinet. Proper FX loop, aux in with two-channel RCA lead so you can channel-split whatever you want to play along with (and separate volume control), decent EQ. Takes pedals well, and - most importantly of all, it doesn't sound too crap! No box so collection from Bristol, or I can deliver within reasonable distance.
  3. Peavey Vypyr 15 modelling guitar amp - does a decent range of guitar sounds, quite a range of decent models from high-gain stuff to more mellow mid-rangey stuff. Bought it a couple of years ago purely because it does a surprisingly decent Diezel VH4 impression for any budding bedroom Adam Joneses No box so collection from Bristol, or I can deliver within reasonable distance. Having a bit of a clearout at the minute so check out my other threads for more odds and ends...
  4. Bargain and a half! And with the way these things are built, even if the sound's not for you it'll always be handy as a paperweight. Or an anchor...
  5. Realised my original asking price was a bit steep - Reduced to £140 plus UK postage?
  6. That thing looks absolutely ace Sean. Are you going to get your Big Twin done up in the same seafoam tolex...?
  7. Updated original post with photos and postage info. I've had a think and decided I'm going to go for one of the new Mono sleeve cases as a replacement, so no trades thanks - sorry guys and cheers for the offers.
  8. Cash preferred, although I'd consider a trade for another high-end single gigbag plus a smidge of cash my way?
  9. Fantastic and super-protective gigbag/case hybrid this, just not much use to me at present as I've only got one bass and no gigs! Superb storage - the front pocket/cable organiser and other cubbyholes are the best laid-out on any bag I've ever had. Collection from Bristol preferred, postage in the UK via Parcelforce 48 should be in the region of £15. Photos now attached - outside and both interior sections shown. It's the blue/grey 'steel grey' version - perfect condition.
  10. Hi all, Moving on my faithful bass crybaby as I've since replaced it with another one and I can't stand seeing it lying around going to wah-ste. This is the same 105Q model they still make and sell, but unlike every other example I've ever seen, the Volume and Q trim pots are on the base of the pedal rather than on the side - see pics attached. It's in decent shape apart from the paint which bears the odd battlescar here and there, but it's in full working order regardless. Even the battery door is intact, which you don't often see on these things! I recently replaced all the rubber feet as they'd got tatty and I'd developed a bit of a wobble like an old barstool... Yours for £45 plus a tenner for P&P, or collection/delivery in or around Bristol.
  11. Delivered my Ampeg SVT to Kern for a cash + trade exchange, instant bank transfer while I was there, lovely cup of tea and some gorgeous dogs to keep my GF occupied while we geeked out over basses. Went like a charm!
  12. Well I'm giving in to being a modern girly man rather than the Rock God I am in my head and going for something modern and lightweight On Hold again.
  13. That's a beast of an amp, but think that's a bit of a non-sensible swap! Plus I dread to think how difficult shipping this overseas could be.
  14. Should probably have mentioned about that this is number 6 of 250 of the Premier Edition, for those of you who care about these things...
  15. Weekend bump! Interested to hear part-trade offers for basses too, particularly Yamaha BBs and mid-level 5 strings...
  16. Come on folks, I've got a brand-new hankering for a GK MB Fusion but this will have to go first... Any reason for the lack of interest? I've been mulling taking it to a tech for a precautionary "everything's ok" check over - or would split the cost of a service with a new owner if it goes soon? Oh, and another thing I forgot to mention - it was previously stored in a bigger flightcase along with a 1u cooling fan unit above it (hence the lack of a top panel), which I'll of course include with the amp.
  17. Ok, available again. Took it down to my practice space at the weekend and fired it up, checked the Bias and all pots and EQ sliders - perfect working order. Even shot some piss-poor video on my phone, which still sounds pretty good despite the complete lack of low end from the feeble microphone: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8hg46xwbjjzmgrf/VID_20140720_190006_264.mp4 Apologies for the guitarist's inspired palm-muted chugging
  18. Hi all, I acquired this in a slightly unwise trade with another Basschatter last year that quickly became a very unwise trade when my band split up! New band is significantly quieter and practices somewhere up a lot of steps, which means it hasn't been used in anger and I can't really justify keeping it. As everyone knows, this is basically the daddy of all bass amps, big, loud and very, very heavy. Was revalved with a matched SVT set from Watford valves just before I got it (Harma-STRs in the preamp, Svetlana Winged-C 6550s for the power amp - which are increasingly hard to get hold of apparently) and has been used just the once since I got it. By decoding the Serial number, it was made in the US in the summer of 1993 and I'd say it's in remarkably good nick for its age. The only thing that may be an issue is that the previous owner had removed the top panel and lost it somewhere along the line - this isn't necessarily an issue as it lives in the Gator flightcase in the photo, but something to be aware of. I've tried and failed to source a replacement from Ampeg, but I don't suppose it'd be a complicated bit of metalwork to have a new panel made up if you know someone handy. Photos below, I can add more on request: [attachment=166903:IMG_20140202_160235_061.jpg] [attachment=166961:IMG_20140718_084652_225.jpg] [attachment=166904:IMG_20140202_154835_552.jpg] Since this is a very solid piece of kit, postage is basically out of the question but I'm in Bristol and very happy to deliver anywhere within a reasonable drive. Trade offers welcome, especially for another good "rock" amp with slightly less poundage and more practicality!
  19. Where does the Orange Terror 500 fit into this conversation...?
  20. I'm going to go the other way and say that the reason I'd want to buy and carry a valve amp has sod all to do with clean headroom! (that's what GKs and SWRs are for... ) It's all about the breakup and grit. Something simple with a tube drive circuit in a "plug and play" type front panel setup along the lines of an SVT-CL with lower power and plenty of midrange heft sounds marvellous.
