1. Hi Guys, I'd just like to post a massive thank you for those who attended Bass Day UK in manchester this weekend. I had the most wonderful weekend meeting so many faces from Basschat, I hope those of you who were there at the event enjoyed my masterclass, it was a big day for me and feel very grateful to have been invited by Stevie Williams (who did a fabulous job with his team to organise the event). For me, I felt my MC was a bit messy in places, a bit racey, and the nerves were just plain silly...but hey, we're all human! ...You know what though...I loved every minute and hope to do it again soon! Thanks for all the support given by those who were there, it meant a great deal to me. Here's a little link from the day: https://www.youtube....nel_video_title Very best, Phil Mann

12. Perfect, played both of these instruments this weekend. The Precision was lovely, nice weight and played well, as was the maple jazz...too good in fact! Nick, I'll call in a minute and take the jazz off of your hands. Best, Phil
13. Fantastic Bass, at a great price from a top bloke! Good luck with the sale Nick, if I hadn't just bought an overwater fretless, I'd had this off of you. P

15. Anyone thinking of buying some of this stuff - Alan is 100% reliable to buy from, looks after all his gear and really knows his stuff...a top bloke to do business with! The Gallien Krueger MB150s combo is a great buy at £250! Phil
16. QUOTE (Phil Mann @ Jan 31 2010, 03:38 AM) A missing apostrophe makes a lot of difference in this months 'The Low Down'. Uhum! If we are being pedantic about missed apostrphies, should that not be month's Hey Bassbus, Sorry, you've misinterpreted my post. I'm just making it clear that I haven't played with Pat Metheny, which is what the article suggests due to the typo. My post on here was more focused on setting the record straight on the claim, other then criticizing a magazine that I enjoy reading each month, that a lot of people put hard work in to produce. I'm not intending to be pedantic, and sorry if it came across as so... Happying playing all. Best, Phil
17. There is another wonderful little typo as well as the miss labeled photos of The Gallery workshop.... A missing apostrophe makes a lot of difference in this month's 'The Low Down'. Just to set the record straight, "and performing with a Pat Metheny Big Band", as apposed too, "and performing with Pat Metheny's Big Band"...whoops! There is, as you've guessed, a slight difference in the two statements. Although the big band are still fantastic and I can't wait to hopefully get back in the seat in the near future! Really enjoyed the article on Martin's 'The Woodshed', one day, I'm sure, I'll own a Sei myself. Very best all, happy playing! Phil Mann

19. Hello! the GWB's are fantastic basses, great built and sound for the cash. Bass Direct have a Spectorcore in stock at the moment... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...core_5_f_l.html again, great basses for the money, however the fishman piezo pickup can be a little toppy at times... Good luck in the search. Best, Phil
20. Thanks for the interest, this instrument is now sold.
21. Now sold, thank you for all the interest. Very best, Phil Mann
22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FCQfaBrRrk Hey guys, I've been trying to put a few video's online after a few requests from those of you whom were kind enough to come and say hi to me on the Bass Institutes stand @ Bass Day in Hove earlier this month. It's only a start, and I need to buy a few things to make the recording better quality for sure, either way, here's a few Mpeg's, I hope you enjoy. Very best, Phil http://www.youtube.com/withbassinmind
23. Thanks Zombywoof. I hope that link was helpful. I do have my own transcription of Tears, but I guess that'll be as much use as that link if you're not a big reader. Either way, good luck with it! I've put a youtube site up now, but it's very early days, there's a few more solo performances going up in a bit, hopefully I can improve the recording quality in the near future.
