  1. Bought a Source Audio pedal from Ade;he was courteous and helpful throughout, pedal arrived fast in pretty much as-new condition and really
well packaged. Great item, great transaction, great Basschatter. Highly recommended. thanks

Hope you were lucky enough to get the whole set from KJ, we got booted out the ABC after just under an hour - power failure knocked out the whole block. No Eighties, no Love Like Blood. :(

Whole set...waited a bit and a blistering encore....waited a bit more and shouted a lot and a flipping magnificent "Love Like Blood". ..sorry you missed out.

  3. My,what a cantankerous bunch....excellent....
I hate Warwicks;had two 5's(short memory span  ) and both hideous.Massively overrated(or so I thought until I read this thread...)
Thunderbirds...in fact all Gibsons except EB2s.
    LEDs...actives...ebony boards...doublenecks...all horrible...
Of course I might suddenly change my opinion on any or all of these(except about the Warwicks...)
Would be Rics too,but saw Youth making a massively brilliant racket with one a few nights ago so temporarily won over.

  4. Think I may have seen this bass in action at one of those selfsame clinics years ago.Did you by any chance also have a column in a well-known but
now-defunct UK bass magazine as well?
I"ve been wracking my brains trying to come up with an argument convincing enough to persuade myself that I can justify the expense of this beautiful
bass....sadly I've failed to do so.Sure it'll sell though and wish you the best of luck with it.

  5. Bought a Nemesis cab off Shaun.
At all stages he was friendly, helpful and straightforward and made it a really easy transaction, despite my being a brand new member of BC.
Cab arrived fast,well-packed and in great condition.
Really nice bloke and have no hesitation in recommending him highly.

  6. Dave bought a Warmoth fretless neck off me.For the sake of our mutual security we conducted the transaction via PayPal.
Despite my being a brand new member of the forum Dave was communicative, courteous, helpful and straightforward throughout
and I have no hesitation in recommending him as a trustworthy trading partner.
Great transaction with a great bloke.
    Thanks Dave

  7. Hi folks,
I've been pootling around for a few days and should have had the courtesy to introduce myself;redressing that now.

I've played bass for a loooonnnnggg time;beginning to work it out now.I like the best bits of many kinds of music
and more than anything else am interested in having my own "voice"(of course whether I'm succeeding or not
is open to debate  )....but I tend towards the noisy.

Have owned many basses, including some extremely good ones, but not all at the same time....space,finances,marital
harmony all being important considerations.I do like FX though;I like the racket they make and I like their ease
    of concealment!

Anyhow, you all seem utterly lovely and I look forward to making your further acquaintance.

  8. ...and one further consideration...

    "You have a bass I want,can I buy it?"
    "Yes"
    Sold
    Done
"...well sadly,NOT done as we are constrained by BC policy from continuing this transaction...so,instead,here is my email address, drop us a line and we'll
do the deal OFF BC as we have no choice and, moreover,we are free agents, even though we'd both benefit from doing it within the BC community, even if that can't guarantee us
    complete protection...."
    "OK..."

People would just be obliged to circumvent what seem largely to be a very successful system. And a lot of them would do exactly that.If you keep
it in-house,at the very least people can warn each other if necessary.

  9. Just to add my noob perspective to this debate(and thus ironically post on a non-buying/selling thread for the first time...),my BC experience prior
to this point was entirely voyeuristic. Then I wanted a specific cab, noticed one for sale here and joined in order to access that
option. It occurred to me at the time that the seller might be suspicious of my motives, given my sudden and miraculous appearance out
of the ether, but hoped he'd be at least receptive to an inquiry...I was lucky,he turned out to be a thoroughly amenable guy and has always been courteous and helpful.I,in turn, have tried to be communicative and respectful in my dealings with him. Whilst conducting this transaction,I noticed
another BC'er was looking for a fretless neck.I had one I wanted to sell so contacted him and found him to be another genuinely nice
person.(I'm firmly of the belief that most people are...)Again,I attempted to convey as much integrity as it is possible to do via a medium
like this and we utilised PayPal for our mutual protection. So that's one purchase and one sale as my first activity on this site.
In my opinion imposing arbitrary constraints like the ones described above WOULD be a deterrent(particularly, perhaps,to
younger participants) and could even be viewed as counter to the ethos of a community like this.Everyone has to start somewhere
here on BC,as elsewhere,it must always be sensible for buyer or seller to beware in every transaction...and if that 1-in-25 or
whatever does proceed to become an active and contributing member then that's a win all round!

As this is my debut non-transactional post and even though this is not the correct forum for this,Hi guys! Nice to meet you.
