Check out the Sisters' version - they reproduce the intro pretty much as per the original, since I don't think that can be improved on, but give it a sense of menace to reflect the death of hippy culture at Altamont. They also twist the lyrics, so rather than love being a kiss away and war a shot away, it's war that's a kiss away and love that's a shot (of drugs) away.
Always felt that The Sisters gave this song a much needed shot of their methedrine fuelled darkness. Emma is magnificent - that howl Eldritch does at the end is soul wrenching.
Spolier Alert: I'm a huge sisters fan.

Meshuggah and then Meshuggah again, not sure whether my favourite is Koloss or Violent Sleep of Reason.
Nothing for me. Closely followed by Koloss.

Hi Jef
It's a nicely laid out site, content is good. I found the Boss Waza Craft article a good and informative read.
Well done and thanks
Steve.

A real gem. Becomes more relevant with each passing year.

Considering how talented John Taylor is, shouldn't everyone worship Duran Duran, or how about The Cure, Gallup is amazing.
I recently started learning Come Undone, what a great bass arrangement!
Lost count of how many Cure songs I've learned, they're more my style, but I do like Duran Duran's darker period.
Yes. I am a massive metal head, it's pretty much all I listen to but Duran Duran creeps in a lot. Saw them live on their Wedding Album tour, JT's playing blew me away, became a fan boy from that. As for the Cure, I learnt a lot about bass playing in my younger days listening to Staring at the Sea and Disintegration. Fascination Street, A Forest, Primary - bass riffs for miles.

Oh yeah, definitely, they were a gateway band for me in the mid 80's. They were always a bit heavier than a lot of their peers which worked for me. I was one of the few who loved, and still loves, the Corabi album 😁
Poison just weren't acceptable to me on any level back then but, now, I can see there was a little bit more behind the make-up than I gave them credit for. Not much more, but still more 😂 If I'm feeling brave, I might pick up some Ratt soon.
Another fan of the Corabi album here. Smoke The Sky is awesome. Ratt was always my preference, great riffs and feel good tunes for the summer.

I'm no John Taylor but I have a reasonably good hair cut.

Signed by Patricia Morrison, who of course mimed the bass parts to that 2nd album. The light caught the picture to the right which is Craig Adams autograph and since that was taken I have added Tony James signed poster to the right of that one. A trilogy of Sisters bass players!
Very cool. I'm not envious in the slightest, honest.😁

I'm old school and still buy CD's. Only downloads i get are when i buy the CD on Amazon and i get the free album download too.
I don't use Spotify or any other streaming.
I'm a great believer in the artists should get some of the profits from their own albums.
Some of the stories i hear are quite surprising and such a shame really.
Dave
I'm the same.
