2. NOW SOLD

For sale: Ashdown Pi bass 240 amp, in full working order.

Condition: excellent cosmetic condition, bought secondhand from eBay

Where: Tonbridge, Kent. Can courier within UK for £5.

Includes: orginal box, manual, power cord, instrument cord to speakon adapter (the amp has a speakon out)

Selling because: Just bought Tec Amp puma 900, so this is now excess to requirements. My feedback link is in my signature.

    Description:
This is the first version of this lightweight amp, running 240 watts into 8 Ohms. Here's the spiel from Ashdown ( http://ashdownmusic....101/PiBass-240/ )

Designed in conjunction with bass maestro Wojtek Pilichowski, the Pi-Bass 240 is an outstanding digital bass amp, delivering compact lightweight power and advanced tone-shaping at an ultra-affordable price.

    Compact affordable power

Thanks to an innovative digital design, PiBass-240 packs 240W of glorious bass power into a box that weights just 1.5kg (3.3lbs) and is small enough to slip into the pocket of your gig bag. Despite its diminutive form, we haven't compromised on it's ability to deliver the fat low-end that Ashdown amps are renowned for – a sound that sets that standards amongst the lightweight competition.

Wojtek also specified a Ground Lift switch to eliminate problems with 'bad power' that can cause noise and other issues while playing live.

    Powerful digital sound-shaping

Able to cover the widest range of styles, the powerful tone-shaping section leaves most compact amps in its dust, offering a truly flexible EQ able to nail any number of classic sounds and styles.

The four slider controls for Bass, Lo-Mid, High-Mid and Treble can be used to boost or cut each frequency range by up to 15dB. To the left of the Lo-Mid, High-Mid and Treble sliders are rotary controls marked FREQ-HZ. These are used to select the frequency at which the sliders boost or cut the signal.

The amp is set permanently in 'Bright' mode making it ideal for fast slap or rapid-fire percussive styles, but hitting the Bright switch will enable a warmer EQ shape with a richer, vintage flavour.

The powerful PiBass preamp features Input level switching to accommodate active or passive instruments.

    Uncompromised connections

Bringing true flexibility to our most compact amp, we've also included a headphone output for silent practise and a professional DI output for connecting direct to a PA or recording setup.

  3. +1 for the 900, very easy and very loud! You may need to turn down the bass: it's centred at 30Hz and at high volume benefits from a twist to the left to reduce flabby distortion.

  4. For sale: Crest CA9 power amp.

Price, payment and postage: £350 including UK courier, discount for collection from Tonbridge, Kent. Payment by bank transfer or cash.

Crest CA9 Details: Heavy and mighty 2u power amp, I was running it happily at 900W into 4 Ohms, but many configurations are available including 2 Ohms and bridged mono. Built very solidly with a terrific transformer, and of course suitable for PA applications. Manual here: http://www.peaveycom...a9_11-25-97.pdf

Working condition: full working condition, one of the fan foam filters is missing from the back but the fans themselves work fine. Amazing volume, clarity and attack on low notes!

Cosmetic condition: Excellent, some minor rack rash

History: bought off eBay a few months ago, from a recording studio.

Comes with: printed-off manual, power cord. You are also welcome to the 3u Spider rack bag, which I 'customised' by removing the back pouch wooden board to allow the Crest to be carried with the leads to the preamp already connected. I will include the wooden board so you can decide!

  5. I sold a Tech21 Sansamp RPM to Simon, fast payment and communications - and a gentleman throughout the ordeal of having a courier let us both down! Highly recommended to deal with, cheers Simon!
    Kevin

  6. The Sansamp RPM is now sold; to avoid confusion I will create a new post for the Crest.

For sale: Tech21 Sansamp RPM preamp, Crest CA9 power amp.

Price, payment and postage: £550 the pair, or £200 for the RPM and £350 the Crest. All prices include UK courier, discount for collection from Tonbridge, Kent. Payment by bank transfer or cash.

RPM Details: 1u rack preamp with Sansamp 'tube emulation'. A bit like the RBI but different mid controls (many threads on this). Tech21 info here: http://www.tech21nyc...amp/RPM-OM2.pdf .

    Working condition: full working condition

Cosmetic condition: tiny scratches on side and top from rack, otherwise excellent.

History: bought off a fellow Basschatter recently, selling because I am changing my pre- / power- setup to a more pub-friendly class D, after quite frankly overpowering the rest of the band with this! I am also selling the Crest CA9

Comes with: original box, manual, power cord.

Crest CA9 Details: Heavy and mighty 2u power amp, I was running it happily at 900W into 4 Ohms, but many configurations are available including 2 Ohms and bridged mono. Built very solidly with a terrific transformer.

Cosmetic condition: Excellent, some minor rack rash

History: bought off eBay a few months ago, selling for the same reason as the preamp (need to scale down so this is overkill).

Comes with: printed-off manual, power cord. You are also welcome to the 3u Spider rack bag, which I 'customised' by removing the back pouch wooden board to allow the Crest to be carried with the leads to the preamp already connected. I will include the wooden board so you can decide!

  7. I've used my two Baer ML112s for nearly 20 gigs now. Horizontal stack for stage, vertical stack for floor, built like tanks but easy to shift. And they sound fantastic, especially for cutting through a loud band (a 7-piece in my case), and handle clean or dirty tones as you choose. Highly recommended cabs :)

  8. Loads of beers and a mix of good bands, Tonbridge Angels football club. Starts 29th May, we're on from 10pm on the Saturday night (30th). Expändables are a 7-piece playing rock, blues, soul covers. Say hello afterwards!
