1.
Fine, just a little down on output & a bit on the harsh side. With the Sadowsky, it's totally different. At least double the output & a much warmer & fuller sound. Don't forget that to other people's ears the Miller is probably lovely - I'm comparing everything to my Status basses!
Both look awesome! Love the maple neck and SB finish.....and the TS pick guard looks lovely with the burst too. Very nice basses....
 2. Hi, Very kind words, many thanks. I must admit it is a good combo, I am tempted to keep it if it doesn't go for around about what I want because it is so good. then I can just go mad and buy a brute! We'll see....thanks again
I had one exactly like this, was a great little combo and pretty loud too. Combined with another cab and it can easily handle small/medium gigs. I only sold mine to get an ABM..
3. I have a PRE EVO II Ashdown Electric Blue 12 / 180 Combo AMP possibly for sale...(that's the one without the compressor then) I am inviting offers around £130 ono collected. It's in original condition as new, never gigged and I even have the original box, manual etc. The amp is around 8 months old and I can get some higher resolution pics if required. Delivery might be feasable if you are in my area (Worcester) Junction 7 M5 or you pay courier charges. Reason for sale (upgrading to bigger rig). The amp is excellent, I cannot fault it. I have never had any issue with this amp and it has performed very well. New ones are anything from around £ 180 plus delivery on the net so asking around £130 is a pretty good deal if collected since it's virtually new anyway. One blurred photo, better ones available if there is the interest. Thanks for looking! I'll leave this on the site for a couple of weeks and take it off and do the p/x locally if no interest. Cheers
 4. Sorry this has gone. No sure why I didn't make it clearer... You have my apologies!
 5.
I can vouch for the amazing condition of FTB's basses... I bought a fretless jazz from him a few weeks back & it really was immaculate! Best of luck with this one, Fox!
Hi Rich. Thanks mate. I hope it's all going well with you and your friend and you have had plenty of gigs. I also hope the VMF is going well too. Kind words sir... I'll text you in a week if no go.... Gassing now for a bigger rig...you know the drill.... Nick
 6. Some rubbish pics as promised so far via my phone.... Better ones can be arranged if required...pm for details
 7. A mate of mine has one of these in an original hard case for sale: http://harmony.demont.net/guitars/H27/114.htm http://www.broadwaymusicco.com/Harmony15.htm I will try to get some pics later on today.... It's in very good order and almost all of it is original with exception to a small part of the bridge. My friend will be able to answer more questions if you are interested via: [email protected] I have looked at this bass. It has a good stright neck, the frets are good, it plays well, and it's in excellent order considering the claimed age around 1968 or so. The pots are slightly scratchy but nothing a good clean won't resolve. Fantastic opportunity in owning a vintage bass for little money. It comes complete with hard case and the approximate asking price is around £400 - £500 Cheers
 8.
I just took a set of these off of my bass they lasted all of 2 weeks before I decided enough was enough, I bought them at a local music shop as they were the only flats in stock. IMO these strings are horrible , the A string was kinked when I took it out of the packet and the strings were so rough they felt like roundwounds , they looked kind of like them too. Soundwise they had no thump and sounded like dead roundwounds rather than flats. The tension also seemed high for the gauge.
Cheers....that's what I wanted to hear... I actually took a look at these today and I have to agree, I initially thought they were round wounds n ot flats! I will not be stringing up with these then. Many thanks for the heads up. Owe you drink I think....
 9. Morning! Has anybody tried Black Diamond strings? What did you think? Good value or not? Did they sound good / last well? My local dealer has these in stock but cannot find any reviews of these here. He seems to have a lot of these in stock and are priced at £29.99 so not cheap then! I reckon he has had a special purchase of these and not sold any since he has asked me to report back if I try them and let him know what I think? Hmmmm. Jazz Chrome flatwounds! http://www.blackdiamondstrings.com/HTMLPages/bass.html
 10. I have one of these for sale: As new, hardly used: http://www.djmmusic.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=AS...amp;eq=&Tp= Including Paypal £15 (Collection only I am afraid as it's quite heavy or post will be around £10) Normally £25, actually I paid more for this....
 11.
This is me with my number one: It's a Highway One jazz, with Villex pickups fitted. It's a fantastic bass, admittedly it's upgraded, but it was great before. I get comments on how amazing this bass sounds everywhere I play it. I can't recommended the H1 Jazz highly enough, superb bass.
I like your tort guard...where did you get that? Were the holes all in the righ place?
 12. Hey Guys that's great feedback.... I have now bought a HW1 Jazz....and I have to say, what a great Bass. Really well made (as any other MIA or Jap Bass I have seen) plus the tones and look of a vintage Jazz, just with a decent bridge and straight neck. What more can one say...excellent.... The finish is superb, actually much thicker than I was led to believe. I bought it blind so it was a bit of a risk, only having played and saw one in Hereford and was impressed at that. Will post some pics and if there is a demand will post a short review. Thanks again to all.....
 13.
are both sold?
Yes - sorry
 14. Hey Guys, Thanks for all your replies...all the best... The info is actually very useful, particularly about the Jag. This website is an amazing resource and is a credit to all involved as well as yourselves, thanks...lol Had another go at the Jag today and I must say the rollers are hit and miss. The treble is great but noisy when your not touching the strings! The switches are not as easy as I thought either and would they last? The finish and looks are amazing though. Love the vintage machine heads and bridge. The neck is nice but sticky if you know what I mean. The guy in the shop reckons he would sand it down! Not at £600 I wouldn't. I have checked out the HW1 a lot and it looks as though I will be going this route as I don't gig at the moment and like the finish a lot since I have now seen and tried one locally. Bit too expensive here though at £600! The neck is smooth and the sound is all jazz. The value from some websites is amazing too. Will trawl to see what's about. TTFN
 15.
Gallery is a shop in Lunnun tarn..... (very good shop too!) H 1s are excellent VFM .....but beware the finish is Nitro cellulose and an is thin so it WILL wear and dink.... it was put on to do this so it looks 'road used' very quickly. Just so your aware of that! I have an H 1 P http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=18771 which I really had no intent to keep once I had done the project.... HOWEVER And this is a big however, its bl88dy superb now I've done it.... Dont get me wrong it was very good before (for what it cost) but now its something else... My advice FWIW, get he H1 and use it as a platform, a begining, Gensis if you will and dont be afraid to upgrade it when the funds are available.... I guarentee you, you will not be dissapointed, and you will genuinely notice the difference for your efforts.
I do like what you have done to your P...now that's very stylish...the hipshots look great. I bet the barti'e kick A! Nice!!! Very bl**** nice actually. I can sense a HW1 here..... Cheers for your thoughts so far guys...much appreciated !!!
 16.
That's a toughie. The Gallery has both in stock - the Highway one is nice, balances well and is pretty quiet. It doesn't have much of an individual sound though. The Jaguar is very noisy on some settings, has poor balance due to the short top horn but looks the business and sounds nice - get it in red and for god's sake fit a Badass If you're looking for a fabulous jazz they have a Jap 75 reissue with rosewood board and blocks in natural for around £500 - very nice indeed... If you're anywhere local to London maybe pop in and do your own shootout!
.....Thanks guys - gosh that was quick.... I agree with all you guys have said so far....I have tried a JAG LOCAL and found it to be nothing like a P but not really like a J either. Sort of in between but when it's active it sounds like nothing else either. Having said that it does sound nice, just different I guess. Didn't notice too much noise but I didn't roll on the top much either. I have tried various Jazz's and loved them all. Guess I am a die hard fender man! I have a chance of last years Jazz in black for £700 all in new and I see the very same one here for sale but they are too far out my price range hence the HW1. I have looked at these and were mighty impressed at the look, build, BadAII and graphite rods! At under £500 all in with a deluxe bag, this seems unbeatable. And it's USA build! What's the Gallery?
 17. This is a tough one: Love Jazz basses. Want to buy new one so which do I go for? Jaguar at £599 Or HighWay one at £479!!! Some reports of noisy tronics on the Jag I hear. So not sure. What do you guys reckon on the Highway gear? Anybody got one? Cheers
