Does it run on a battery?

Oh, the temptation 😅😂. Perfect for those Christmas shows 🎅🏻👀

Thanks…I’m not far away 😎. This would be so inappropriate for a lot of my gigs…makes it even more tempting 😂🤷🏻♂️

Keep looking at this one…very tempted 🤔

..and a lovely amp it is too. My first SWR from the Fender years…but they didn’t change a lot. 😎

Oohh, that means you’re driving straight past me..🤔

The lack of high pass on SWR’s is something to be aware of. My Redhead will make the speakers jump around at fairly low volume, especially with a lot of low end eq boost. The Stereo 800 in bridge mode would easily do the same with a Goliath 4x10. Just don’t overdo the low end, keep the volume sensible. Great amps.
I really wish I’d remembered this one when I accidentally drove past Newbury yesterday 😳

I'm not knowledgable enough to give an answer, but my guess is, in the finish. How deep would the stain sink in?
Yes, most likely…but not always. If any chipped areas (on the back?) don’t show stain, then it’s probably in the finish, between clear coats.
I’m obviously thinking about a less coloured re-finish 😜🤔
Seriously tempted….and in Bristol 😎

Any idea if the wood is stained, or if the colour is in the finish?

Looks like a Reflex…late 80’s active pickup system?

So sad to hear this news…lovely chap. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Pre CBS wood...wow, that's a new one!

I still have one - it’s a great amp 😎. The secret to lumping it about is two people…that was really how it was intended. The wheels help a lot, but for lifting, the size makes it hard work. For two people, it’s no hassle

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Alex bought a bass today - easy communication and absolutely no hassle…as we expect on BC. Highly recommended 😎

What strings does it have? Not so easy to find tapered B and E sets nowadays.
No idea, they were on it already, and may even be the original Fender strings. The bass hasn’t had much use at all. The general feel of the strings and grey silk remind me of a set of Galli’s.

Please do.
On my basic luggage scales it weighs in at 9lbs straight. Not the most accurate, but it certainly feels about right. The broader neck and headstock give it a bigger feel than a regular 4 string..but it’s very manageable.

SOLD
A lovely bass, comes complete with original "TSA" square case, all tools and tags. Passive electronics with the usual VVT set up. A very versatile modern take on the classic Jazz bass format, with a nice big and even sounding B string. Currently strung thru body, but bridge thru is also an option.I think the colour was officially called Candy Cola, it's a metallic red just a shade darker than most. The scratchplate has mellowed slightly to a creamy version of white. No significant fret wear, and generally in excellent condition, with only one or two marks to the body. The worst on the lower back of the body is pictured below.
Collection and try out strongly preferred - between Bath and Bristol just off M4 J18
Please ask any questions - I'll have a go at weighing the bass later, but I'd describe it as typical for a 5 string Jazz! Not unreasonable, but its solid....

You should edit the thread title to include £950. Some might not bother to read all the comments and miss the keen new price
Good point...will have a go!
