1. Hi Geoff, It had to have a new driver as the original one's voice coils packed up. After doing a bit of research i found it was quite common on the "Blue Line" drivers as they were basically a cheap Italian speaker. After more reading of users on-line a few people said to upgrade it entirely, so i decided that rather than do a like for like swap and possibly be in the same situation again, to replace it with a better quality name brand speaker. So it now has a new Eminence Kappa inside and sounds a whole lot better for it. Thanks for your question, Mike.

3. Hello All, My Ashdown ABM series 8 ohm 1x15 Bass cab is up for sale. I have had it about 5 years and as its not getting used much i think it's time it went to a new home. Its in nice condition and has been kept in a pet free, non-smoking house. I am looking for £200 o.n.o. I live in Crawley, West Sussex Regards Mike. 07775 777450.

5. Hello, Does anyone have any experience of these Schecter Simon Gallup sig Ultra Basses? I think they are a very new item but its based on the old ultrabass. I really like the looks of it and its been a bit upgraded form the basic model too. I'm waiting to hear back how much these are so will update this post when i have the info. 7. Hey Deano, Its all boxed up and I'm waiting for UPS. I'll PM you with the details. All the best, Mike.
8. Good morning everyone, Today i've reduced the price on my Ashdown Spyder 550 head. Now down to £330 or near offer.
9. Hi, i have an Ashdown Spyder Dual Tube head for sale on here, do you fancy trading it for your BB714BS?
10. Hello, this is still for sale if anyone is interested. Its mint and has a lovely deep and creamy tube tone. I'm just gonna pack it away and leave it at that. You know where to find it if you want to make me an offer.
11. Really? "ranting" sounds like its not good then. can you send the link for the thread, thisnameistaken? jimijimmi, so the white one is yours? Thats the one that turned me on to these basses, its so simple looking but its stunning. Can i be a bit forward and ask how much you paid for your custom and thanks for the info regarding the postal options.
12. Please, please, please, keep us updated on how this turns out.
13. I recently came across this maker CATALDO who has been producing gorgeous examples of the classic John Entwistle "Fenderbird" type basses. Its obvious from all the stuff i've read so far that the attention to detail and quality of workmanship is very high but it will cost well over a grand to import one from the USA. Has anyone got one/had one/wants to trade one? Your feedback would be much appreciated
14. Thanks for your thoughts on this, I'll pass them on. By the way StingrayPete, you surprised me when saying EB are making better models than the originals. Is it just better fit and finish or have they gone deeper. Since my friend started asking these questions and reading your feedback (Thankyou both) its actually sparked my interest in the Stingray HH. Bloody GAS its a terrible thing isnt it?
15. It will. Use the rotary eq then try adding the little Mid, Bass and Bright switches to bring out those extra tones. I'm sure its all in there, you'll just have to play about for a few minutes till you get the sound you want. Also the tube gain knob makes a big difference to your tone.
16. We have similar tastes then, i see. Theres a lot to be said for keeping it simple. The Spyder does produce a "warmer" tone than the ABM, probably because of the dual tube preamp and would really suit that James Jamerson P Bass Motown sound. If you would like more "technical" details, Guy Morel at Ashdown is the person to get in touch with. I look forward to hearing from you. Mike.
17. Hi, Thanks for the Streamliner offer but I'm short of cash at the moment so have to pass on it.
18. Hi All, I've been asked by a bassist friend what i thought of Sandberg and i really dont know anything about them as they are not on my radar when it comes to GAS. He was asking specifically about the Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor model which i have to say, Googling a photo a bit later (4 string Black, High Gloss), looks nice and features the twin humbuckers sported by the Musicman Stingray HH. Its not cheap but neither is a Stingray. I did use to own an old pre-Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray about 5 years ago and i was very impressed by its build quality and tone. I think he should go for a Musicman HH Stingray over the Sandberg but have no experience of the Ernie Ball models so am i wrong on this one?
19. Hi Gareth, I know you cant see me but I'm hanging my head in shame as i type this. I have now watched your video, i didnt notice it was one, i thought it was a photo... I thought it was a well explained demo but would have liked to have heard you drive it a bit harder, you almost did but backed off. I think you are in your garage so i guess it wasnt possible? I will now go and sit in the corner for a bit facing the wall.
