  1. Please read.

I recently sold this neck on ebay only to have the buyer return it to me today.

His reason being there is slight chip in the lacquer at the bottom edge of the skunk stripe behind the second fret which would make his thumb uncomfortable when playing?

To be totally honest I'd never noticed it when photographing it for the listing, I'm not saying it wasn't there, but I didn't pick up on it if it was.

The neck had been stood on a 5 way rack for around two months, so it I suppose it could have had a knock.

Anyway, on running my thumb over it cannot see how it would make anyone uncomfortable.

I thought ok, the buyer isn't happy, I'll accept the return, even though I state no returns. I didn't want a ? hanging over my 100% ebay feedback.

    The Return.

It has arrived back with damage to the lacquer on the headstock, something that was certainly not there when I sent it!

The buyer claims the was damage was done in transit on it's way to him, though he never mentioned this extra damage during any contact for the return,

even after he'd taken a photo of it himself??? The neck was well packaged and internally protected with bubble wrap. it was returned in the same packaging and there is no signs of damage to the box.

Obviously I cannot prove this, but I suspect the buyer caused this extra damage in an attempt to make his case stronger in the event that I may refuse to accept the return.

This neck is totally playable and the truss rod works perfectly.

Due to the extra lacquer chip, I'm putting it up at a lower price than it was on ebay.

Photo's were taken for the ebay listing, apart from the final two close ups.

    Price includes P&P,

Any questions please feel free to message me.

  2. I ignored them initially, then I happened to see them at Reading in 1983, where they were excellent.

Went out and bought Script and was totally blown away, The Web being one of my all time favs of theirs.

I got to meet Fish and Steve at the HMV store in Middlesbrough around 1984/85, they came across as very humble and down to earth blokes.

I bought all the Fish era albums on their release, IMHO Clutching at Straws is one of the finest albums of the 1980's. Great band, I still isten to them regularly.

WTAF is that supposed to be?  Is it my eyes or are the "pickguard" and "pickups" just a printed sheet of paper?

    My thoughts exactly

  4. I have a set on a Vintera II and to be honest the tension is fine, I didn't have to adjust the Truss rod after swapping out the stock strings,

they do however sound a lot thinner than the Ernie Ball flats I have on my Squier CV, but that has a Fender Pure vinatge 62 pup installed, so it could well be

that making the difference, I'm not sure what the stock pup in the Vintera is.

Hi Lewis, i have one of these (in FS at the moment too), i'm interested, where did you find a bridge with the holes that line up because i couldn't find one, it seemed that the the holes line up differently from the original 'hi-mass' bridge, did you have to 're-drill' as id probably keep mine if i can get a direct like-for-like replacement like this one, thanks in advance

    Rog

I have a CV 70's with the same hi mass I swapped it out for a Hosco vintage bridge, all holes lined up perfectly except one of the outer ones, but I found I could still get the screw in and irlt was fine. Hope this helps.
