Did the festival you played at have a big PA? if so, chances are most of the fun was coming from the subs.
No, it was moving my ass about the stage. The PA subs were about 10 metres in front of me.
2. Cheers guys. Nice to see some of you agree. I don't want to sound like an arrogant t*t as I know some people may not be able to afford all the big stuff. I'd just like to let them know that it's worth aspiring to that......... if they wanted to! Comic sans rocks man!!!
3. Hi all, I played a festival recently where there were two SVT 8x10 cabinets on stage. Playing through both of them was an experience I would like every bass player out there to experience. The power and sound was immense and something you couldn't recreate in any way. I have one 810 but would really like to get another now for big gigs. In my experience, bass rigs have to be big. I jammed through a mates 1x15 combo a few weeks ago and it had all the tone and power of my portable television! I'm intrigued as to what other bass players opinion is of this. I understand that some may prefer combos or smaller amps for many reasons. Perhaps there are other advantages of smaller amps and cabs apart from portability, I just can't think of any!
4. Hi all, does anyone have any experience of these cabs? They are about £200 cheaper than the 810e and look a lot cooler to me. When I asked a salesman why they are cheaper, he said that the 810e sounds more vintage. When I put Ampeg 810 cabinets into youtubem their technical head guy was on there saying that the 810av and 810e are identical apart from the colour of the grille...... which begs the question of the price difference???! Oh, and just to add further confusion, at Thomann, the av is more expensive than the e. Please help.................... anyone?

9. Hi. I have an Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III rc head (2 months old), a 410 (also 2 months old) and 115 if you fancy a part x?
10. Hi there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I own an SVT 2 Pro 300 watt head. Lovely amp but I want a smaller cab than the 810 to go with it. I borrowed an SVT HE but it runs at 8 ohms, which is not recommended with the 2 pro as it only runs at 4 or 2 ohms. Anything higher will damage the valves and then the transformer I have it on good authority! Anyway, as I always play with PA support and DI my head, the speaker is only for my benefit so I was looking at the B410 HLF. It's smaller and lighter and runs at 4 ohms. Has anyone else got this combination? I know the SVT 410HLF is better but for the reasons already stated, I don't care!! Cheers in advance, Dave.
11. Hi there. I've decided to sell my Ampeg SVT 2 Pro because it's just not getting the use it deserves. It is a USA made model and comes re-valved in a flightcase. I jam with mates these days and use a small combo so may be interested in trades for a smaller rig so I can get a decenter (is that a word!) tone in these sessions. What I'm trying to say is (sadly) I'm going semi-semi pro. I also have an SVT Classic 8 x 10 cabinet which is in well used but good condition and has a padded cloth cover. I'd say that the head is worth £800 and the cabinet £450 but together £1150. Trades I'd consider are Ashdown rc plus 4x10 plus cash my way or the like. I'm in Barry in South Wales and welcome viewings and trials at my home. I won't bore you all with the details you probably know already but wanted to state that this amp is very big and heavy. You'll struggle to lift this on your own and I want you to be aware of that. This is not a lightweight bass amp. This could be improved by using a lightweight rack case but I've always favoured the solid case for more protection. Obviously all irrelevant if you have a roadie! On the plus side, it has tone you have to hear to believe, is built like a tank, has trouser flapping power, can handle 500 seater venues without PA support, has brand new full set of valves and is super reliable. If you read reviews about this amp, many people who have no budget in mind choose it. It has often described as the holy grail of tone. Thanks for reading and keep rockin', Dave.
12. Hi there. How do you pay someone on here if the amp is to be posted? Cheers.
