1. I really like the shimmering top end of a tweetered cab in the right context, however in the 2 bands I'm in at the moment, I really don't want anything to do with them. I like to have plenty of high mid definition in both those bands, however when I've been at gigs where I've had tweetered cabs,m I've struggled to deal with them to varying degrees. Obviously it doesn't help that the tweeters in most available cabs are gash, but I can't seem to get that nice pick clank, and only get the really clicky stuff, even with a treble roll off and boosting high mids, or turning the teeter down/off and trying to force them by doing alot of boosting to all of them. It's especially bad with the band where I use always on overdrive, I've got a fancy Vfe RUP pedal which I use to have very clean high mids and top, mostly clean bass and growly driven midrange. But even though I have the overdriven signal rolling off from about 1k upward I still get fizz and the clean top end sounds harsh. Is there any clever tricks for getting a smoother top end. and filling that gap between mid-mids and treble that seems to appear on a typical tweetered cab? Or are those frequencies just been sucked straight into the crossover, so your only choice is having them with alot of extra ultra high stuff too or not at all?
2. Looking to get a new gig bag, as the one I have is pretty uncomfortable due to the straps having some weird link at the top and my basses not actually sitting on my back fully when I'm carrying them, and also the fact that it has worn about as much is humanly possible with it still being in 1 piece. Don't mind spending a bit of money for something quality, but certainly don't have 150 quid for a mono or owt like that, something around 50 tops would be ideal. Like the idea of a soft harcase or whatever they're commonly referred to, where there is a solid element to the case but it's still pretty much a gig bag, but again haven't seen anything like that so far that isn't mega expensive. Any good recommendations?
3. Ended up getting the Caline and its solid as anything, the velcro that comes with it is weeell strong too. The bag seems pretty tough for note but gonna see how it holds up, got a massive pouch for leads and extension chords on the front which gives a but of extra protection too. The only major down side is it didn't have a shoulder strap which I was pretty convinced it did. However with all my stuff in it isn't too heavy, and probably better for my posture anyway especially when I have to carry that and my amp at the same time, which on second thoughts is better then how I was carrying it before. Not gigged it yet but its very satisfying being able to shift all the pedal boxes out my front room and keep the rest tidy. Looking forward to a nice hassle free setup tonight hopefully.
4. Yeah that Mooer one is a display model and also a return so that explians the price on that, 2 of them don't appear to have longer straps to carry it and only have a handle (from the pictures at least) and that wouldn't be great for me. If it had a little extra room in for plenty of leads and stuff that will be a bonus too, but most of these boards are more then big enough for the 3 or 4 pedals + ashdown foot switch I wanna put on them so there should be some spare room for them in the main compartment amyway.
5. Been looking at some pedalboards for a while now and I'm liking the idea of the portability of a pedal train style kinda board. These are the ones I've seen so far (trying to spend 60 quid, preferably less ideally) Caline: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caline-CB-105-Pedal-Board-/162013993470?hash=item25b8c959fe:g:AzAAAOSwys5WVE5p Xvive: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xvive-XF3-Pedal-Board-for-15-Xvive-pedals-/301898935919?hash=item464a942e6f:g:HvEAAOSwu4BVvm0o Warwick Rockboard: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RockBoard-Club-Pedalboard-GigBag-43-x-31-cm-/252324465230?hash=item3abfb5ca4e:g:hTkAAOSwsLtVef9s Mooer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mooer-PB-10-Stomplate-Mini-RETOURE-Pedalboard-/311395876806?hash=item4880a3ffc6:g:lIkAAOSwjVVVl8n8#viTabs_0 The Caline one seems appealing because it has a similar bag to the Pedal Train, and could be pretty easily worn with a gig bag, it's be worn a bit differently but the Xvive one also seems pretty good for that too. All of them just look like solid metal boards so I guess the main thing is gonna be how well the bag holds up. As an added bonus the Caline one comes with somewhere to tuck a power supply under, however I dunno if any of the others do too. If none of those are any good there's also a old fashioned style Diago board that a mate of mine has and I know is solid. Just would be nice to have 2 free hands when I'm carrying my gear, especially as sometimes I have to lug my ABM500 around on the train/bus every now and again...
6. Could do with it been a fair bit bigger then that unfortunately, otherwise that looks solid. Is there enough room/protection to leave a pedal train setup when you're transporting it? That's looking like the best option so far.
7. Oh the pedaltrains aren't that expensive at all, might have been thinking of pedalSNAKE as I remember their stuff being well expensive.
8. Ok looks like I might have to actually spend some money then, never mind, cheers for steering me clear of that cheap one If I had any sort of DIY skills I'd be up for building my own, but it'd need to be the more traditional style as I want it to use as a case, and I I'm only gonna be using 3 pedals and maybe a foot switch, so don't need the big open style of pedal board. Cheers for the link though, looks solid if you need something like that. Anything that's not gonna destroy my bank balance in the non-powered hardware kinda style that I can just leave setup to plug and play and not worry about smashed pedals when I'm moving it about?
9. Just to clarify I need something cheap and I have a power brick already! Cheers though, basically I want it as a glorified gig bag that I can keep my comp, tuner and always on compressor ready setup that they won't rattle about inside of, and has room for jack and power leads. That one I posted seemed ok but my major worry about any of them is the pedals staying put when you're moving it.
10. Gonna get a board cos i wanna be able to set up quicker for gigs, and was wondering if this was any good? http://www.djmmusic.com/p-3579-kinsman-ultima-abs-pedal-board-case.aspx?gclid=CMKxrPSixcsCFQo6GwodpNENVQ That looks ideal but my primary concern is I can't see how padded the top is, the one thing that worries me about them is everything banging about all over the place and I ideally wanna use it so I can scrap having a bad of effects and leads and stuff and just take my bass and a pedal board for practise and gigs. Also if anyone has a better recommendation that'd be ace!
11. Got a cheap one in the end, but the build quality seems pretty decent and was well packaged and everything with plenty of options for leads, having one for each output and polarity flipping one and a mini jack output one for good measure. Only thing I had to do was get a 2.1mm to 2.5mm adaptor for my Trace compressor. Works very quietly and was great at the gig I played last night.
12. Any pics of the pedal board? Willing to post it? Also how much roughly does it weigh?
13. Awesome thanks for the advice guys, don't have any digital stuff so will probably try one out since they're only 25 quid or so and hope that none of my pedals or any mains I use disagree with it!
14. Cool! Don't need anything fancy, just a tuner, distortion and an 18v compressor, although the distortion has some magic voltage doubling going on or something so hopefully that wouldn't mess anything up. In what situations DOES isolation matter by the way? As long as there isn't too much buzz I'm happy!

16. Seen a few cheap power supplies on ebay and was wondering if they are gonna be ok or whether they are too good to be true. In particular there's one called from a brand/is branded by Caline or something similar, that has several 9V outputs, a 12V one and a 18V one, and claims they are all isolated. Have seen alot of decent reviews for it and there's a few gash ones but has anyone here got any experience with anything like this?
17. Going on eBay tomorrow after I've finally got round to setting up a listing for it, would be much happier to sell it on here!

19. Still not sure what's going on with my cab yet but been in yorkshire this is probably a little far away. Would have been ideal otherwise!
20. Yeah the nut is the main reason that I want a tech involved, tuning to B standard and the B is a .142 so that'll need some filing that I wouldn't dare do myself. That and I wouldn't be surprised if it needed a fret dress or (please no) an entire refret, it's a pretty old thing and looks like whoever's owned it most of it's life didn't like going past the 5th fret too much. It's mostly the B that has intonation issues unsurprisingly, especially with the cheap strings, but I for the time beign I've tried to balance it more toward it being in tune till about the 7th fret, because there's no way I need anything higher on that one or the E particularly.
21. It is the plan to get it sorted out, done my best but it doesn't wanna play along, not sure whether it's the cheap strings or something else but just can't get it in tune. Got some circle ks ready for it and its mostly the b that's the problem so that should sort it, just got other bits that I'm gonna leave for a tech to do. For the time being it'll do, good practise for when I might eventually be able to afford an upright.
22. Where you based? Have a poorly flood damaged nv215 that may or may not be a write off so possibly need something else.
