  1. For sale is my Mesa Subway D-800 head, in excellent condition, complete with gigbag. Light, very powerful, with a huge tonal range. Handles right down to a 2-ohm load. I bought a complete new rig recently, so sadly this is surplus to requirements.

    NOW SOLD

  2. For sale, my as-new EBS HD360 30th Anniversary head, bought new a few months ago, and only gigged once. It's a fabulous, versatile amp with bucketloads of power, but I decided to buy a new class D rig to appease my ageing back shortly afterwards, so it's now surplus to requirements.

Complete in its box with unopened instructions plus the EBS 30th Anniversary hard-backed coffee table book that came with it! I've also got two EBS Proline 210 cabs for sale on here - I can do a very special price for the whole rig for anyone interested. PM me for details.

    NOW SOLD

  3. I just bought a lovely Sei jazz from Chris, and he couldn't have been more helpful, including sending pics of the bass as it was being prepared and packed. It arrived the next day in perfect condition. Buy/sell/trade with confidence. Thanks Chris!

Remember that time that GAK said they sent a shipment back due to quality control issues and we said they were liars....😅

That might have been true if there had been any of the basses in the country at the time... maybe they're clairvoyants!!! :-)

You should ask the guys on TalkBass, IE Lakland Club. These guys are experts at early Lakland.BTW it should have a 4 number serial number on the side/top of the headstock.? If not this is (like you say) a prototype..

Any Lakland aficionado will say these early Laklands are amazing.

That's a good idea bubinga5, I may just do that. It has no serial number anywhere, so it must be very early.

Right, my brief review of the EHB1005MS - Seafoam Green. Caveat - I am no Ibanez aficionado and I am not really familiar with the Ibanez preamps so might not have been able to get the most of this bass.

Firstly, if you like modern basses these things very cool. Nicely finished the flat green is really bright and i liked it. It is also very light, like stupidly. I checked and there were no rattles or anything loose on this specific one.

Set everything flat and started to play, sounded decent enough. The neck is very flat and super easy to play. You adjust to the multiscale thing almost instantly and the curves on the body fit me just right. The shop had set up this bass a bit and the G string was noticeable lower than the others so there were one or two of the frets where it just started to bottom out and become a bit buzzy but not sure whether this was the same issue mentioned in the previous review

Set balance to the front pickup. Nice and full sounding and got some good tones then the bridge pickup....

    Oh dear.

Not sure what was going here, as I said the G string was lower and closer to the pickup but the balance was all off. The D and G were so quiet but the pickup was set completely level and I know that could be tweaked but I wasn't really impressed.

Fiddled about with the controls a bit but since I wasn't quite familiar I struggled to get a tone I was happy with.

I've asked them to give me a call when they get the 1505 in so I can compare the Barts and Nords and see how different they are.

For comparison I tried the only other 5 they had, an SR305E and found it far easier to get multiple tones I liked from the PowerPan pickups but that is of course personal preference.

Let me know if any of this ramble has helped or is just nonsense 😁

Thanks for your review, it serves to confirm some things I thought too - glad to know I wasn't just being picky!

  7. NOW SOLD

For sale are a pair of KRK Rokit 5s, RPG2 version. They're fantastic monitors, but I'm updating my home studio, so they are surplus to requirements. In full working order, however the colour in one cone is slightly faded from being closer to the window, hence the price.

Mains cables and a set of 4 foam isolation pads are included. They're fairly heavy, so pickup from near Woking in Surrey is preferred, but I could ship them for an extra £20.

  8. NOW SOLD

It's been pointed out to me that at least one website is now offering them for £539, hence the price drop.

    --------------------------

Up for sale are Shure SE846 IEMs, in as-new condition. I bought them new about 3 years ago, used them twice, and I got on with them so well I went and ordered ACS custom IEMs. To be honest, I think the Shures sound a little better! I used the ribbed rubber tips, which were thoroughly cleaned and everything put back in the presentation case. They've sat in a drawer ever since.

They cost nearly £900 at the time, so less than half price is surely a bargain. Price includes UK postage.

  9. ALL GONE!

I went looking in my bits drawer and discovered I had FIVE straps I don't use that are virtually brand new. I fitted straplocks to all of them (apart from the Comfort Strapp) and then took them off again, having done no more than put each one on a bass for a few minutes at home only to decide they didn't work for me. None of them have been gigged, so are otherwise completely new and unsoiled!

From the top of the picture down (all prices include UK postage):

    Levys M4-BLK 3.5" wide, 42"-50" long: £10 SOLD
    Levys DM1PD-BLK 3.5" wide, 44"-56" long: £20 SOLD
Gruvgear Solostrap Neo 4.0 4" wide, 44"-50" long: £30 SOLD
Minotaur Wide Deluxe Bass Black 4" wide, 51"-59" long: £25 SOLD
    Comfort Strapp (X-long) 3.5" wide, 42"-54" long: £20 SOLD

  10. NOW SOLD

For sale is a near-new Lakland 55-02 Custom in Black Sparkle, with a really striking blocked ebony fingerboard, which I bought direct from Lakland at the end of last year. It's a cracking bass, but I just find myself still using my 55-94's all the time, so I thought I'd be better to move it on while it's still virtually new. It weighs 4kg, and sits on a strap or the knee very nicely. 35" scale, 19mm spacing at the bridge.

It was sold as B-stock due to a barely noticeable mark on the fingerboard either side of the 16th fret under the G string. You can't feel it, it's very hard to even see, and has absolutely no effect on the sound or playability of the bass. Due to this small blemish, it cost me a little less than list price, so I've factored that into the price I'm asking. Collection preferred from GU23 (just off the A3 near junction 10 of the M25) but I still have the original shipping cartons it came in from Chicago, so it can be posted.

I'm looking for a straight sale, so no trades please.
