Simmons Echo

Yes he has become my work horse at rehearsal as he is quite light so playing for four hours is no problem. He is through neck so plenty of sus and barts for pickups gives him a nice big growl. Fun Fun Fun

Simmons Echo

Just a few picks of my Simmons. This thing is fab, a real work horse with fantastic sound and playability. Made by a small and I think now out of buisness company in the USA. Enjoy.
4. Hi all, I own a Simmons Echo bass made in the USA, I have to say it is a great bass that I picked up on evil bay a couple of years ago. I don't know much about the company, their website is very basic. Anybody else out there own one?
5. Late 1980's Charvel Bass for sale £150 The bass is is good condition but does have a few dinks. All jackson hardware very dark green metallic finish. Looks almost black. The serial number is 329890 but I have not been able to narrow down the year any further. The neck is fantastic and the bass sounds great. A real clasic. SORRY THIS IS GONE
6. SOLD Overwater 5 string wide neck 19mm spacing and long neck give this bass a very tight and flexible sound. The feel is fantastic and tonal qualities are very pleasing on the ear. The top wood is pear and it comes with hiscox hard case. There are a few very minor dings have to say that but you can hardly make them out. I'm looking for £900. Im In London if you would like to try him out. Please note this is a 36" scale neck.
7. if I didn't already have one I would snap that up these things are fantastic Bump
8. Hi Steve, I live in North London have 20 years of experience playing bass/fronting bands. Looking for hobby band for occasional gig as a bass player only but can certainly add backing vox, will have to travel by train as I don't drive so could probably rehease a couple of times a month. Let me know if this is any good. Beeg
9. Overwater Progress III 36inch scale through neck 5 string bass. NOW £950 It is with great sorrow that I have to let this go as I have finally had to admit my hands just arn't big enough. This bass is fantastic both in sound and play but I have tiny hands and the scale has defeted me. The bass is is excellent nick with a few very minor dinks. It has a pearwood top and the usual mahogany body. I bought it about 10 months ago and have found myself looking at it more than playing it. Pick to follow
10. I know that is part of why I was so pissed should have done it myself but needed new jack plate fitted parts etc though I would take the easy option! little did I know.
11. I hate to moan very often but feel I must vent my frustration and disappointment with the folks at the legendary Bass Centre (London). I have been going to the shop for about 12 years and have always found them to be helpful and decent chaps. My latest experience with them has soured my feelings towards them greatly. Before Xmas I took my Ibanez BTB405QM to have the jack socket replaced with a normal 1/4 incher. I enquired how long it would take "a weekish" I wandered off not worried as I had just purchased my overwater and Ibi was now a back up. As it turned out I was unwell for a week or so and couldn't get down there until after xams I assumed the work would have been done. I was about to head into town and thought I would check the shop was open (31st Jan), I phoned, no answer so I though give it till Jan 2nd. Again I was too busy to get down and intended to go into town on the 12th to pick it up. I was phoned by the guitar tech on the Tuesday who asked me what it was I wanted done? This was a month after I had taken the bass in. As it was I said it was fine as I had intended to pick the bass up on Saturday anyway. I was assured it would be ready by Thursday and thought nothing more of it. It was at this point things went very wrong. I headed into London on the Saturday to find the shop closed down a small note on the window informed me that they still had the workshop open Monday to Friday until 6pm. Not only would I not be picking Ibi up that day but I would now have to try to get into London before 6pm on a weeknight (I am a teacher and cannot take time off). My real anger is due to the fact that I had spoken to the tech on Tuesday informing him that I intended to pick up the bass Saturday. There is no mention of the fact the shop is no more on the web site and indeed when I told them that this would have helped they replied we didn't want to give anyone the impression that the company had folded. There was no real apology only a weak excuse for not informing me the shop had closed. I live in North London and have finally managed to pick up the bass this week more than a month after I first put it in. There is no mention on the website that the shop is closed on Saturdays in fact it still informs us that there is free parking on Saturdays which is nice. I am angry and disappointed with the service I received and I warn anyone that intends to head there for a play with all the nice toys that it is no more you are better off heading to the bass gallery.
12. All of my basses have names they are my friends. See below for their names. Unlike many of you most of my basses have boys names some are neither one nor the other. Syd is a girl. One self custom is called the alien. I know I am very very SAD
13. All Warwicks are art, voting for just one is a difficult thing to do but the Infinity with cocobola top wood through neck with f holes is just perfection and so it get my vote although I have a $$ wich for an off the peg is all the bass anyone needs.
14. Mine was a Hondo Explorer in bright red (I couldn't find any pics of it except me in my living room aged 15) It played like a slab of concrete and sounded not unlike a damp fart. Unbelievably I paid £75 for it and for about a year I thought it was the greatest instrument in the world. The action was so high my fingers soon became vice like and to this day I am grateful. When I traded up to my marlin sidewinder (not very far up) I sold the bass to a friend for £50 I must remember to apologise. I have no excuse for the jumper I am wearing.
15. have played bass for 20 years but not recently in bands want to get back in the saddle. Interested in just about anything interesting.
