Well the fund is now into 3 figures. Early days and on a checkout monkeys wage to!

Good stuff. Don't settle for any less than what you want. Get anything less and you'll regret it a year later.

I also want to nominate ashevans09 for the best forum signature of all time!

  2. I used to hate the look of bongos, I kind of dig them now. I'd never own one but I no longer dismiss them like I did a year ago. I agree though, they do look like a beautiful work of art and also based on previous MM basses I have no doubt the quality is immense. I keep hearing how great the electronics are too, I'd love to see one in person.

I'd have thought the value of the LE would be up there with something like a 30th anniversary Ray. Depending on the day anywhere between about £1000 at the low end but maybe as high as £1300 if an MM collector takes a shine to it.

I've had a standard Sterling in the past. playability (neck wise) just as fast as a Jazz. Sound wise - much closer to a Ray......i.e. nothing like a Jazz. Harder edged and less versatile sound palate wise than a Jazz but sits in a mix well and a great sound if you like it. Personally I do but I wouldn't have one as my only bass. Just my 2p

Great post, I also agree on the price. Only as an estimate though. I did have a Stingray as my only bass once but I wish I had got an l2000 instead for a wider variety of tones.

  4. I think they share the same neck profile, but they won't sound the same being different electronics. I've seen standard Sterlings go for £650-800, his being a special I would have no idea. Sorry I wasn't too much help! Others here are experts though, you can also ask on the EB forums or even TB.

Sounds awesome! :) I'd suggest WD music for the best tort as they do the real deal. You can read about it on offsetguitars.

Good result - if they sort it out perhaps you should give them some positive publicity ?

Definitely. I've praised GAK before for handling a similar situation so well. I don't want to give any names away until resolved however. ;)
