  1. I think you can do a lot better for the money. £350 is at the very least £100 too steep for this and honestly doesn't seem like a big enough upgrade from the Aria.

This is also a time where basses were "less handmade" than older vintage guitars, but used more modern maching. Current modern basses are more precisise in my experience as the modern machining tech has improved.

A higher end Squier classic vibe series used would be within your budget and better. You could even buy it from a store with a free setup. Made in Mexico Fenders have also massively improved the past 10 years so if you can stretch your budget out to one of those too, it would be a decent upgrade. My experience with older Mexico Fenders was very, very meh or miss. The newer ones can be very good. A newer year used player series Fender P bass would be good if you can budget it.

No, a special teeny-tiny pickguard needs to be ordered. Brian aka earlpilanz on ebay has the template and the one he cut for me is a perfect fit.

Thats really cool. I like you didn't cheap out on the parts despite being a cheap bass. Looks rad.

  3. I'm a little confused about CITES. This was a massive pain around 2017 when I imported a guitar from Japan. It's not an experience I want to go through again...

I'm importing a bass from outside of the UK, to the UK. Specifically I'm looking to import a Hofner 500/1. Is this something I would still need to provide documentation for or can I  just import without worrying? The instrument isn't vintage.

Anyone with recent experience, or knowledge? Cheers!

  4. Genuine Fender MIJ Mustang Bass tuners, brushings + screws. You will receive all 4 for the price.

    Hipshot HB10 dimensions

    89.5g each.

I swapped my tuners out for lollipop style on my MIJ Mustang Bass.

Nothing wrong with these tuners. They're the original part.

I'm including the new hipshot brushings and screws as I used the existing mustang ones.

  5. Fender Japan Precision P Bass 3TS Body + Black Pickguard.

This came from a 2011 Japan FSR 70s P bass. The one with the black blocks on maple necks. This is genuine Fender made - not aftermarket.

Please note pickups and bridge NOT included. You will ONLY receive the wooden body and the black pickguard.

Generally very good condition. very light wear that can be buffed out. I can see 1 tiny surface ding to the left of the pickup area.  The sides of the neck pocket were sprayed black nitro - it's a clean job as you can see.

£150 posted within the UK. Islands + highlands expect to pay more. No trades please.

  6. As per title should these fit no problem?

I have a 2011 MIJ P bass which has a really tight neck pocket with it's stock P bass neck. I've bought an Allparts Jazz neck with rosewood blocks+binding but theres now 1-2mm pocket gap both sides. I was under the impression these should be the same at the heel.

I don't really want to start messing with the neck as it would void the return policy. It doesn't have the plate holes drilled.  I don't mind selling the body on and buying an allparts body if that means it'll fit better. I've shot them an email but would also like some advice from the forums.

    Thanks!
