Im in a band called The Inspired.
What inspires us?
About 8 pints.
We play rock and indie covers.
I think that a band name should be memorable over naming a band after the genre of music you play. I wanted to call our band Substitute (a good name for a covers band IMHO) but we went with The Inspired. -
Can you get me a gig there. f***ing annoying place! Heard so many good reviews about bands playing there, and everytime ive gone in ive been told to ring back, and whenever i ring, im told to go in - i go in at agreed times and theres nobody there to talk to!

WITHDRAWN.
(thanks for your comments!) -
Just to make things clear for all you lovely basschatters that have PM'd me, and anymore PM'ers - These are NOT NEW. They have been on at least one other bass to my memory, and were found in and amongst all my other spare bits and bobs.
Ive stripped them down, given them a cracking clean, and they LOOK like new.
Thanks! -
God knows - you'd have to buy them and try.
-
Thank you!
I was thinking about £25 inc postage as a rough guide, and am happy to take offers/sell around there. -
thanks for moving it!

For the past few days I've been unable to get Joy Division's 'Digital' out of my head - hypnotic bass and vocals. I mentioned this to my wife and she suggested putting the song on when we got home - so I dug out my Joy Division Substance CD (the first CD I ever bought).
Next thing I picked up my new Squier VM 70s Jazz and worked out the bassline, closely followed the line for Transmission. Lovely!

Mine was Alannis Morisette - You Oughta Know....on the exact same bass - lovely creatures. Alanis morisette and the FSR bass that is -
Bump for the snowy weekend crowd.

Hi!
Due to losing the ever reliable gig van, I've got to downsize my rig.
Ive got a Trace Elliot AH 150 SMC head (carpet covered) and the matching 1153 15" Speaker Cab.
Both in amazing condition, and sounds fantastic. One slight problem is that there is one of the screw cap things on the head missing (you know - the caps that hide the screws on the top of the head)
Anyone looking for one of these should already know how good they are! Ill post some pictures up probably Sunday (gig tomorrow).
Can be heard on live recordings on www.the-inspired.co.uk
Im looking for £350 for this rig (including power/speaker leads etc) but that wont include postage. Im based just off Junction 22 of the M1, and whatever junction it is for Ashby De La Zouch on the M42.
If you have a similar sized/priced combo for sale then i will happily do a trade!
Thanks,
Mark -

Disagree, he should explain the full issues with the bass in the OP, I might put a Jazz bass up for sale later but fail to mention it has no pick ups.

Ill buy it! -
BUMP = Bring Up My Post

NEW YEAR BUMP!
Whatcha got for sale/for trade in these here parts?! -
Hmm....tempting, but I dont like the idea of it.
BUMP! -

So, as the title suggests...
I have an AH150 SMC Trace Head (Carpet covered), and the matching 1153 15" Cab (again, carpet covered) All of the gear is in immaculate condition, all things considered - the only thing i can think of is that a screw cap cover is missing on the head, and there are some bash marks on the metal corners on the cab.
We have lost use of our gig van so have to take all of our bands stuff in 3 cars, so im looking for a space saver really!
Combo doesnt have to be Trace Elliot, but I value my stuff at between £250 - £350 (based on depreciation on my buying costs) so anything similar combo wise would be perfect - but not Ashdown.
If i were to sell, I would take offers around £250. I am based in Coalville, Leicestershire - 5 mins from J22 of M1, or 10 mins from J11 (or 13 - cant remember!) of M42.
Cheers

Evening Chaps
During soundcheck for a gig ive got tomorrow i noticed that i didnt have a great deal of bottom end - it was a bit flat and bongy compared to the usual clarity i normally get out of it.
I cant provide a picture of my EQ (7 band) but its pretty much just under flat at bass end, and slightly curving up towards the top end. BUT it makes the same noise with EQ off.
I have my pre-shape on (again, same noise with it on), and my compression at just under 2 - yep, you guessed it, same noise with it on or off..
Playing thru a 1x15" matching 1153 cab.
The cab is about 2ft away from the wall, and im about 3 ft away from my cab (I have stood as far as my lead will allow (about 10ft) away from the cab and still sounds the same.
The room im in - cab is on a laminate floor, 2 feet away from a solid brick external wall. Majority of room is carpeted - its a football club so you kind of get the picture.
Pre Volume is about 7, Post Volume is about 4/5 - ive tried different settings with that and again, no difference.
Guitar is Squier VM Jazz Bass - one of the FSR 70's ones, and sounds the same no matter how the knobs are set.
Any help to return me to my usual miserable bass playing self will be much appreciated! -
Sold! To Gisbourne. He might be a newbie, but he paid straight away, and provided his address. Just how it should be done.
Sold. Ta.
