Why not fit another strap button to the heel or side of the neck? Then you can carry on using your Schallers.

What about one of the line-array compact PA Systems? The Bose L1 springs to mind but there are other systems at different price points.

Stop resting your thumb on the pickup?

Buyer doesn't want to pay for a hard case. Pretty sure this will be a standard requirement so it looks like we're taking the risk.
I've been lucky so far. 🤞
Buyer would be far better off spending his money on a hard case than insurance, IMHO.

Andrew Guyton is near you but he will not be cheap!
Steve at Guitar Lodge in Felixstowe does refininshing. I've not used him for this so I dont' know how good his work in this respect, but he's done several setups and one headstock break fix for me and the work has been of excellent quality at a reasonable price.

An evening of Aretha Franklin stuff tonight on BBC4, starting at 8pm with a special from
the Proms with special guests.
And if you enjoyed that @casapete, I can thoroughly recommend the Prom from last night (Saturday) featuring Cynthia Erivo and BBC Concert Orchestra. She has a superb voice, and the band nailed it as you'd expect. It's on iPlayer.

They are indeed excellent bits of kit. Great for blending piezo and microphone on a double bass, the notch filter is a winner, and they work really well with guitars, mandolins and other instruments.
I run mine on 2 9v batteries and they last for ever.

I used to like tractors but now...........oh forget it.
... but now you're an ex-tractor fan?
That must come in very handy in this hot weather. -
A used Yamaha BBNE2 should be possible within that budget.

Wonder if that was the inspiration for those horrible TB-10 things.

I play mandolin too so it made sense to have my tenor banjo tuned to GDAE. I like the crossover. If you play guitar, it's probably not a bad idea. I worked in a band a few years ago with a guitarist who played a tenor banjo tuned like the top 4 strings of a guitar DGBE and it sounded great. I think ultimately it won't hurt to try and just see what works best for you.
I've not come across anyone using EADG on a Tenor Banjo.
I think they call DGBE 'Chicago tuning' and you can probably get string sets from Eagle music for it.
GDAE is used by most Irish players. The Trad Jazz tuning is CGDA, they tend to use it for chords rather than single-line stuff.

Hope that she has got big hands. I don't think this is one of your better ideas Owen, better to just get her an octave pedal and a pickup for the Cello.

I have a friend who needs to convert a garage to give music lessons. There will be no drums so there is no need for super soundproofing. Can I share a plan and ask for advice?
I think that if he is converting a garage into something that becomes part of his house, the work will need to meet current building regulations. Coud be wrong but worth getting this checked out.

Are you using a notch filter or anything Jake?
+1 to this, I find the notch filter on my EDB-1 is an absolute godsend. I usually run it into a microthumpinator to take the low frequencies out too.
I also have a Peavey feedback ferret in a rack somewhere, but havent got around to trying it on DB.

You don't need to install Schaller strap locks on the strap. Just put the strap on the button , then click the lock in place on top of it.

@BenHallBassin the Wanted section, you're going to struggle to beat this.

My mind is currently being boggled by this. Especially the bit at 2.15 when he picks up the bow, and the C7 (?) chord at 5.50.

Acoustic Image gear seems to be very popular amongst the 'nice' set.
I have an aging Tecamp Puma which works well with upright and bass guitar, so I think something more recent from Eich would be worth a look. No issues with support here, I've had one or two problems which were swiftly resolved by Thomas Eich himself.
Oops. Please make that AER, not sure what I was thinking there. Acoustic Image indeed.

The 410 is a classic example of how not to build a speaker. Placing drivers side by side halves the midrange dispersion compared to vertical placement, while creating comb filtering in the highs.
In this particular instance, if the OP is looking at a second-hand 410TVX, his budget is probably less than £100. Despite the theory, the 410TVX is a decent sounding cheap cab and would be a decent upgrade on a single BB115T.

Buy the 410 and ditch the single 15!

8. Venue sound engineer has had a huge argument with the promoter, locked up the control room, taken half the PA equipment and disappeared.
