1. Yeah, inlay work is really amazing. For the pearl tuners, I'm fearful about them too for what dings and knocks are concerned, but they put a smile on my face every time I take the bass off its (haaaard) case I guess my GAS has been toned down by about 200% since I own the thing!
2. And here it is, my Xmas present from myself! This bass is beautiful! Photos don't do it justice, it must be seen live to appreciate the colours. Tone wise it has plenty of growl and piano-like highs, with a bit of knob twisting it can access a good range of sounds, even if the mids knob is really really sensitive. Chording is a pleasure! I don't slap much, but for the little I tried I'm really comfortable with the string spacing, and for the fingerstyle now I'm just a couple days into it but I'm already getting comfortable with that (coming from a 6stringer with narrower spacing). The neck is fast. I LOVE the impressive width of the fingerboard...aircraft landing size! Construction quality is really top notch, the top has a nice contrast, and I LOVE the pearl tuners...Inlay work is beautiful too!! I'll bring it to do some setup (the action can be set lower and I'd like that ) and it needs small sanding on the 21th fret, G string height (there is a small bump in the fret). Probably will get a removable ebony ramp as well All in all, I'm still in the process of 'feeling at home' with the instrument, but I'm already loving it! Happy holidays everyone!!
3. Just bought a beautiful Yamaha TRB 6 JP2 from So, shipment was blazing fast and item in amazing conditions. Top bloke to deal with!
4. The JP2 arrived, flawless transaction with our fellow Fianso That's one of the most beautiful instruments I've ever had the pleasure to see. Now I'm at work, but tonight pics and comments will go up! I'm a happy man now
5. That should be a JP1, not a JP2. The top is different in the JP2 (quilted maple), JP2 has 26 frets, yours has 24, and JP2 does not have the patitucci signature on the headstock (and different preamp and different scale)
6.
Sold ! Thanks for you interest !
Christmas treat incoming!
7. Just sent payment for a real goodie, TRB JP2 incoming My christmas and birthday present for the next XYZ years!! I'm so excited, can't wait for it to be here XD
8. I love them too, they don't affect in any way your way of playing, unless you have an incorrect thumb placement when you go up high the neck As with anything else, is just personal taste.
9. I second the H. Sounds so...colorful. Otherwise, F#!
10. That "looks" good, but I don't have the bass with me now. We need someone who is kind enough to play it (nice as you should have promised! ) and upload!
11. Hey skankdelvar, thanks I know, it's been a difficult year. Fortunately (and hopefully!) in a couple months everything should go back to normal and I'll get more time to play and get here my gear Can't wait
12. I second Michael Manring. A seriously great musician, abusing his fretless. Especially like his song "Selena" but he composed a few really good ones imho. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eTBc7aWBGw Emanuele
13. But yours especially is...arousing. And great sound as well!
14. I'm a high one I feel much more comfortable even if it doesn't look as good as a medium length. But who cares. I need to play, not to look cool
15. Hi everyone! I'm Emanuele, Italian, forced to move abroad for work reasons (but hey, here I can create explosions for movies! KABOOM! ) Lived in London for 1 year now. I love playing bass (double and electric), even though I'm not what you would consider a "good player" - but I just adore playing, so, who cares. I'll get better Since I moved here I didn't have the chance to play the bass (365 days without...it's been a torture!) except for the odd jam with my former flatmate who happened to have a cheap 4stringer. I want a 36 hours days!! Happy owner of a Yamaha TRB1006 Natural w/ Roland Midi Pickup and Hartke Combo (back home...they'll get here soon-ish, I hope!), a green Court 4 strings (flashy!) and an unnamed super cheap don't-remember-where-did-i-get-it 4 string fretless. Oh yeah, how can I forget my really close friend, my Upright bass, 3/4, study model (nothing fancy, but gave me lots of fun!) I never heard about this forum (which I discovered to be one of the most populated!) until some days ago when the almighty GAS made a move on me again and I was looking for some fretless 5/6 stringers and found you, bassChatters! Hope I'll get along well with you all guys See you around in the forums! Emanuele
