  1. Will you use the gain/blend side of it? If not I would say have a go on the 4stroke, I think if that had been launched at the same time as the OB series I may well have bought one of those instead, I know it's a bit dearer but there's a fair bit more eq available.

  2. Had one since they launched, I don't tend to use the gain/blend side of it much but it's there If needed. Other than that it's a good amp, more versatile tone wise than the Terror Bass that it replaced in their range which is still a great amp if you like it's sound. It's loud too.

  3. I've got a Harley Benton 75 and a J&D that arrived a couple of weeks ago they're both superb vfm but I must admit to preferring the J&D as it's much lighter than the HB and on looking inside, the wiring was of a better quality than the HB as standard, I replaced the HB wiring with a kiogon loom before I gigged it ( I would now happily gig it anywhere ) but all I've done with the J&D is set it up in drop B and put new strings on to suit, I gigged it last Friday and it got several compliments on it's sound and looks ( it's a surf green ).

Yay! Just when I scooped up the last one from Wembley Music!

Still, hey ho, needed one for some gigs straight away... and really liking it so far...

The Bass Block is showing as due to arrive at Thomann in early March at an estimated £513, which is £86 less than Wembley's last price... they recently dropped it from £620. The Bassliner 2x10 will come in at £813 over Wembley’s £925.

I hadn't looked to see how much they'll be, I got mine from Wembley just over a year ago, you have to go ahead and do it sometimes or you'll wait forever and a day ☺.

That is a great price from Thomann though, are there any other USA built heads out there anywhere near that price? They'll be a popular choice at that prixe i reckon.

  5. Just seen a post from Quilter on Instagram about the first batch of their amps for Thomann, probably won't be a bad thing but I wonder if they will have the quantities to enable keener pricing, not that the Bass Block is overly expensive for a usa built amp.

ALL companies have the off products. Look at the original versions of the Ampeg PF-500s. What a sack of crap they were. Yet very few people would rip into Ampeg with the same vitriol as some are doing with Ashdown.

True, I could jump into every Hartke thread and shout loudly about how the Kilo ( their flagship amp) I recieved the day after they launched here, crapped out after less than 8hrs use, and the following 3 months of smoke and mirrors and utter horses**t from Korg UK  (their distributor at the time) but I let it go, it was resolved in the end, I wouldn't pass water on Hartke if they were on fire again but I know plenty here swear by them and good luck to them all.
