1. when it says "DC" though, will it work with AC power? that's my issue, i know they're alternating and Direct current, but will the daisy chains work with an AC adapter? http://www.johnnyshredfreak.com/store/inde...products_id=248 i've currently got a 9v AC power adapter (from the zoom pedal)
2. so i got excited today and bought the following: DSC_0067 by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr DSC_0059 by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr DSC_0066 by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr already had the zoom pedal, but bought: pedal case thunderbird wall hangers (x2) gig bag bass big muff loving it ALL
3. ok so i've bought an EHX bass big muff alongside my Zoom B2.1u i dont want loads of power supplies, so was considering this as a cheap option: 5 way splitter only problem is, is that says "DC splitter", would it work AC? both pedals are 9v i've searched for an answer and not seen much answers asap please setup: DSC_0066 by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr thanks in advance Chris

5.
Im not sure your really making much of a saving by going for a combo. On a very tight budget I'd pick up something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Behringer-Bass-A...=item415c0eebcc Better than 50p a watt - thats about as good as it gets.
that's a bit special that is no horror stories from 2nd hand buyers then? it's tempting, and bargains can be had just found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ashdown-MAG-300-...d#ht_500wt_1156 amazing price!!!
6.
I think the MAG 410 combo will be great. Its probably louder than a lot of the 2x12, 2x10, 1x15 combos in that price range and its not too costly. If you do go the separates route just remember a good, efficient cab can make a huge difference to your output volume. Good luck with the search, and i love Waitrose as well :-)
not to go too off topic what waitrose you work for? there are partners everywhere just saw this: Orange TB500C Terror Bass Combo Amp i know it's a bit more expensive, but i really like the Orange stuff, and it's 2 x 12
7.
I gigged for a year or so with a MAG300-C115 combo. It did the job well although we aren't a rock band (as i keep telling my guitarist). We were pretty loud back then though. I got a ABM head and hated it, I know its got more going for it but i felt the tone was too wooly or warm, and didnt cut through like the MAG head did. Both 300watts, both going in to the same cab (not at the same time of course) yet the ABM would get lost in the mix sometimes. Given the choice again i would go for the ABM but i disagree its miles better than the MAG, they both have a different tone and quite a few people do prefer the MAG tone. I think the MAG 4x10 combo will be a much better bet than the 1x15 version if you are prepaid to lug it around. Add a 1x15 at a later stage and thats a very loud rig. More cone area so more air shifting. Neither of these amps will be putting out their full 300watts until an extension cab is added, so having more speakers to start with is a good idea.
Very helpful post Im just researching at the moment, i get a bonus each year from work (love waitrose) and will most likely upgrade the sounds and possibly a guitar at the same time, but power is needed first, no point buying a guitar if you cant hear it imo. The cost issue of cabs and heads is the main thing putting me off, i know there can be bargains had, but theyre still a bit more pricey, combos offer the cost saving with the same power output. And im a fairly strong lad, 44kg lifting isnt too shabby as my dads hk p.a system is heavier, and i used to lug that round chers for the help though guys. And yeh my local music shop is andertons, love that place
8. That is rather nice, i think once ive got the money ill hunt on here too, seems to be some bargains And thanks for the help
9. i did a search before posting, but could find nowt we're a rock band, aiming at a "you me at six" sound, but i like playing drum and bass too, so punch and low end are important lol, i'm a strong lad the 4x10 combo is 44kgs, but i can deal with that tbh, i prefer the "all togetherness" of a combo tbh how "loud" is 300w though? roughly? (might be a silly question tbh)
10. rightyho, the band im in could be getting to the point where gigs are in order, obvious not wembley, but small venues, the 80w amp struggles in the rehearsal rooms, so at any venue it could be horrid. i've been looking at combos as they're all in one etc (obvious i know ) i'd be looking at spending between £300-£500 on a combo, and see this: Ashdown MAG C115-300 Bass Amp (EVO II) Ashdown MAG C410T-300 Bass Amp EVO II what would be the benefit of 4x10 speakers over 1x15? i know from car subwoofers that more speakers move more air more easily, with a punchy sound, where a 15 cone will displace a lot more air on its own?? also i'm impressed with the orange stuff i've tried, but it seems expnsive (well out of my budget anyway ), and there's an old trace elliot amp at my rehearsal rooms thats awesome, but they wont sell any info / opinion would be awesome Cheers Chris
11. i bought one, was going to buy a big muff pi, but actually, thought this might be more use, as it's a tuner aswell as an effects pedal, and it's AWESOME, been playing around today, distortion is sooo addictive, just been playing hysteria all evening
12. i'm thinking of getting this pedal on pay day, i know i posted about a pedal board a couple of weeks ago, but this has really caught my eye, and the videos i've seen of it have impressed me: http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-guitar-fx/...nc-free-psu.asp opinions / experiences / reviews please Cheers Chris
13. Pink floyd - delicate sound of thunder, that album is insanely good Also, dire straits - alchemy, but more specifically, sultans of swing, and Deep Purple - made in japan All epic albums in my opinion
14. ok guys, i'm sold on buying a bass big muff at the end of the the month, and it's spurred me on to wanting to build my own pedal board. a brief pedal choice: Bass Big Muff Pi ??compression pedal?? tuner ??overdrive pedal?? the reason i put ?? there is i dont know which are "good" versions of those pedals, ideally £60-£80 a pedal for each of those, but only up to £20-£30 on the tuner, in-line please so suggestions for board material and techniques for building etc would be helpful grip tape on the bottom of the board, carpet over the top, and velcro on the bottom of the pedals? or fix the pedals to the board etc? any sites that would be helpful for this? buying a power splitter etc i might add the band i'm in play heavy rock music Cheers Chris

17. Hi, my name is Chris, new to bass, i bought this with birthday money in april, and been playing avidly since, getting the hang of it it would seem, but still MANY more hours to play I'm unaware of the brand, but this is my bass, bought as part of a bass package, readying the flamesuit, but it's a start, i plan to buy a nicer bass at crimbo with a bonus and christmas money: DSC_0023 by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr this is the amp, a white horse 80w practice amp, which is pretty good (although i'm new to it ), although compared to the trace elliot stack i practice with at practice rooms, it's quiet plugged in by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr and a few arty shots 4 strings by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr bass 3 by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr long neck by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr head by Chris Watts Photography, on Flickr also part of a "band", still in the early stages, but this is a recent cover: http://www.youtube.com/user/indigodrive#p/a/u/1/rkN8X-hHoVE next purchase is a "big muff pedal", tried one today and i loved it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot27eLWhvlA p.s i know i'm picking there *flamesuit on* anyway, that's me
