1. Hey, thanks so much guys! Given me a lot of hope This place is great, i need to hang here more often!
2.
One appeared on CC in Preston, From my dealing with the Bethnal Green one they are not too concerned about stolen stuff. Nice pic of the Serial number- http://webshop.cashconverters.co.uk/auction-item/982044/markbass-little-mark-3-bass-amp-head
Ahh thanks mate, unfortunately not it!! Gives me hope though didn't realize CC had a web shop.. I'll start scouring that as well. Thanks for the kind words guys, your sympathy eases the pain a little! Was pretty hard to swallow - was leaving for my 30th bday jam night when I realised... wasn't the nicest bday present. Andy.
3. Hi guys, Just thought I'd put this out there in the hopes that this may turn up, and somebody may spot it! It's quite a strange one.. I played a gig a few weeks ago, on the Saturday night, standard function gig in Askham, Newark. Packed up, drove the long drive back to London. A few days later, was packing the car and realized that my bass amp was.. Missing. Called venue / sound guys / band mates etc, unfortunately no dice. I've come to the conclusion I either left it at the gig, and it was swiped, or left it on side of the road as I was unloading. Pretty tragic - can't even claim insurance on it! It was a Markbass LM III, in a gig skinz bag, and I had two pedals also in the case - a digitech BSW, and Boss ODB3. Both pretty used, the boss one especially beat up. The amp looks as new, perfect condition. I guess it's going to be hard to spot - but maybe it will be put on the used market with pedals, or even in that bag, which is fairly distinctive. Bag looks like this; https://www.djdeals.co.uk/prod-downloads/Gigskinz-Serato-&-Recording.jpg Anyway, a super long shot - but if anyone does see this come up ease get in touch with me on here, or [email protected] . I do have the serial number of the amp somewhere as well, as I registered with my insurance. Thanks all! Andy.

6. Hey guys, just a little bump - any ideas on where to pick up Antiquity II's for a good deal in UK?
7. Hey guys thanks for the suggestions.. I replaced my bridge 4 or so years ago when the original disintegrated on a gig! Was really happy with the improvement in sustain etc at the time. I think it was a Schaller (I didn't go the badass as the holes didn't line up from memory). I've looked into your suggestions Bubinga5, thanks for that. Wizard seems to be out of business, but after a bit if reading online the Antiquity II's seem like a good deal, and the general descriptions seem to be something I'm after. Can't seem to find a dealer in UK? And they're over double the price on Thomann compared to buying from US(eBay). Is there a UK retailer that you'd recommend? Otherwise it seems like my original idea on the Nordstrands would actually work out cheaper. Cheers dudes, any other suggestions/ideas please shoot em through
8.
Fender's own '75 RI pickups from the US version are available as '75 Vintage'. They are excellent pickups IMO, easiest way to get them is via ebay from the States at about £80 a set all in. Nothing like the rubbish so-called 'US' pickups in my MIJ 75 by the way. Comparing them directly to a pair of Model Js they are significantly brighter and more 'open' sounding, a lot of grind with a good even bottom end that isn't as overwhelming in the lower mids - not quite so 'hot-rod' (I wouldn't describe the Model Js as 'classic jazz' however you wire them, they are a lot beefier without the upper end snap).
Hey guys, sorry to revive this thread, but I'm in the same boat.. Looking to upgrade the pups on my 75RI jap jazz bass. I can't seem to turn up anything on eBay or Google looking for "75 vintage".. Are you sure that's what they're called?? Sounds like it could be worth trying as looks like it would be less than half the price of the nordstrand nj4se's I have been considering! Looking for a darker/meatier/punchier sound from bridge pup in particular. Opinions/ideas welcome!! Thanks, Andy.
9. 43-104.. These ones: http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/p/921431/la-bella-4-string-deep-talkin-bass-stainless-steel-flat-wound-43-104-long-scale-bass-strings/ ..seemed like the closest gauge to the round wounds I usually use (DR MM fat beams). You interested? I had another play today and I may have overreacted, don't seem that stiff now for some reason. Still.. At some point I'm going to have to try the TI's.. Might consider selling instead if anyone is interested? What's a fair price? Cheers - Andy.
10. Here's a free bump! ..with a question i have a 75 P also - and it has that same darkening around the pup under the pickguard. Whats the deal with this? Just curious if you knew, always wondered ! best - Andy.
11. Hey guys, Well I finally got around to putting some flats on my old '75 P Bass! After playing around for a bit I've discovered that although i LOVE the tone from these things, i feel like the slightly extra bit of tension is going to make my RSI flare up again.. Originally I was tossing up between the Thomastic-Infeld flats (JF-344's i think where the ones) and the La Bella's.. I ended up not going for the TI's as i kept reading the tension was "weird".. BUT now i'm thinking that may suit me better! So, to the point, just putting it out there if anyone has a new-ish set of the TI JF344 jazz flats that they'd be interested in swapping for an essentialy brand new set of La bella deep talking flats? With extra cash/whatever, happy to discuss! Cheers Andy.
12. Hey guys, I joined the forum back in July/Aug to buy an amp off here, but since i've been hanging about and generally lurking around, thought i should introduce myself! I'm an Australian bassist recently re-located from Perth (Australia) to London. I guess i have a broad range of influences, but i'm really passionate about soul, jazz and rnb music. I've done a bit of work over the years doing live and studio session work, and decided to make the move over here with my partner (a singer) to see how we go in this big city Things are moving along slowly... i've recently signed on for some studio space in Clapham, which i'm in the process of setting up as a small mixing/production/tracking facility (i'm also passionate about recording, composition and production as well as live playing!). Been picking up a few gigs here and there, but nothing really worth mentioning yet i guess! If you want to check me out, i just uploaded this vid of some of my original material i recorded live in my home studio back in Perth, a few days before i left town.... and if you feel so inclined, my facebook "artist" page is here : http://www.facebook.com/andyoneilmusic Cheers! Andy.
13. Bought a Markbass LMIII from Pete. We had some delays from paypal, but he was great - kept me updated of the process nearly every day, and posted it off as soon as possible. Great packing job as well! Amp arrived safe and sound a few business days after postage, and was in even better condition than expected. Stand up guy - thoroughly recommend! Andy.
