Guys. So many great suggestions and a feast of great listening ... And the winner is....
We all are!

Lots of great examples here and some that venotbeen aware of so a good education, and of course terrific players. But it's the giveaway clickety click of the pick rather than just knowing they are pick users. Hence my Doors example at the start of the thread.
-
Funny. I was going to say... Or Outside Tokyo but thought that would be a bit obscure....
-
Doors. Summer's almost gone. Any better example?
-
Live music. Good guys
-
Thanks. I'd settle for the bass itself as its more the quirky looks than any need /desire foe the full synth experience. Will keep a look out
-
Yes definitely the gr 77.
-
And a quick trawl across the net shows none for sale anywhere. So nobody's got want they want to part company with. Not even Tony J?
-
Ha! Just about remember them. No just curious and wouldn't mind acquiring one Thanks for your responses

I've seen these in a couple of Bass books but never in real life. Anyone actually got one. Any good?
-
Well it's not quiet but you can't say it's dull and it plays pretty well which is what really matters ; )

You want rosewood, racing stripe? Try the Mikey Way
-
Ok Good luck with sale

Hi. Lovely looking bass. Interested in a trade? 73 musicmaster bass shortie. Refinished inc matching headstock and replacement scratchplate nut and tug bar. Original electrics, knobs body and neck and small tuners. Let me know Mike

Anyone compared this to the Mikey Way Squier? It's got a decent humbucker. Would be interested to hear if the pawn shop version is worth the extra cash?

Here's my recently acquired 2005 CAR Jazz.

I think it's fab - probably the nicest bass I've ever owned

Hi I've got one like this and was told it's Chrome red rather than car. Apparently a colour used on s1 jazz and ps for 2004 only. Anyone able to confirm this? -
When the jazz pickup was fitted it had two toggle switches. One for each pickup with vol and tone affecting each. Since removed and returned to standard setting
-
Received some feedback (thanks to Sibob) indicating listed prices are somewhat optimistic so revised respectively to pbass 1450, mm bass 350, jbass 675, ashbory 185.

More photos available for each. Might be better to list individually?

I recently purchased a Mikey Way Squier Mustang for my daughter. I'd played and really liked the sunburst Squier VM Mustang with the original style split pickup. Have to say both were/are really good basses. Easy to play with short scale anf good build qulaity. The MW has a humbucker, which although doesn't look quite right in a Mustang to my eyes, is pretty versatile. I don't think you would go wrong with either of these.

Have to make some savings and since I can't play them all, I need to part with at least one. Pricing's a bit of feeler - I'm sure you'll tell me if I'm off here, obviously don't want to give anything away.
1972/73 Fender Precision, black, black and white 3 ply scratchplates, rosewood
Original except for scratchplate and refin - electrics, original pots, pickup all there but had a J pickup added at one time so not as it left the factory.
Body well worn, been a real player. I've owned it for nearly 30 years, so most of the abuse happened in the first 10 years! Rotosound rounds. With very battered hard case it came with - looks like a fender case of the day but no logo etc so better assume it isn't the original. £1750
1972 Fender Music master, faded cream, white scratchplate, rosewood, matching headstock
Original except for scratchplate and refin - electrics, pots pickup all complete and undisturbed, other than being transferred to the replacement scratchplate. It's home made and chunky and a sensible improvement on the original - not broken at the jack socket like so many others. Rounds. £400
2004 US Corona Jazz S1 switch, chrome, red, black scratchplate, maple
Comes in one year only Chrome Red (red over a silver undercoat) All original, almost perfect cond, but for a few chips. D'addario chrome flats added. With original hardshell case £750
2009 Ashbury - ultra short scale fretless immaculate as new original cond - metallic blue, with spare silicon strings and original gigbag (photo below from web) £200 -
this one...

I played long scales until I found this - really enjoy playing the short scale now and looking at the new Squier mustang that's just come out

I played long scales until I found this 73 Musicmaster - really enjoy playing the short scale now and looking at the new Squier mustang that's just come out. Had an issue getting the low E to sound good and needed to go for a thicker string, but it sounds fine now, though it's not loud compared to other basses. There's room for both in your collection...

Try one with the S1 switch. Really adds another dimension
