Halfhearted bump - I don't visit this forum often, but it's still languishing in the attic not doing anyone any good. It's still available. Will consider smaller offers, or exchange for an electric guitar.

I hope it went for a fair price, chaypup. I'm reminded that I never got round to flogging my fretless Thunder IIIa after halfheartedly trying on here last year. Lovely things. To continue the slowest forum conversation ever, with apologies... no I didn't, but thanks for asking. We needed cash to help fund an extended family trip to New Zealand, this is the first time I've logged on since we got back. The need to sell has diminished somewhat, but I still feel it's wasted just sat up in the attic, so if anyone is interested then please contact me (I'll check this forum more often than once every six months). Price can drop a little bit, or I can include its chunky Hiscox flight case. Or if anyone can recommend a good (*) guitar shop to sell it to in the York area, I ought to shift it. Thanks. (*) Good = nice people who care, I realise I'll probably not get as much cash as I'd want, but they need to make a living.

FS: Westone Thunder IIIa fretless bass. Serial number 4073465, which dates it as July 1984 from the Matsumoku factory in Nagano, Japan. Bought second hand in 1986, but hardy used since. I didn’t, and still don’t, do it justice. Condition is very good. Some small superficial scratches, more on the aluminium covers for the electronics on the back rather than the wood. I blame 1980s belt buckles. Everything works, including the big active circuitry for mad noises. Fingerboard shows some wear, very slight “warmth” (i.e. buzzing) around 3rd and 5th frets, and I think the action is fairly high – but all this is untouched for many years so would doubtless benefit from being set up carefully. Price is £300 non-negotiable, collect only, from York. Please excuse this lack of flexibility, I’m not that desperate to get rid of it but right now the cash would be useful. If there are no takers then I hope I’ll eventually learn to play it properly, or maybe even get frets put on. It won’t be appearing on Ebay. Having trouble uploading images... but I'll learn how to do this if there’s any interest. Or I’ll gladly or email them. Thank you.
