1.
Like a few people here, I put mine in at the start of the night and they don't come out until I get in the car to go home! I to was concerned as to which filters I needed, I went for the 15's, as a few people had told me the 25's are too much for 'normal' use. Unless you're playing for the damned stick with some 15's.
For me they made gigging even more enjoyable, because it sounded like everything was turned down, you can enjoy the sound, but because everything is actually cranked up you can feel everything still!
If Im going to a gig to watch, Ill take them. If Im going to a club, Ill take them. If Im going to a loud pub, Ill take them.

Best musical investment.

Well Dan, having read all the reponses on here and on other forums it appears the ER15's are a popular choice.

So, I'm booked into to Boots on Friday to get some moulds done. Worth mentioning ,if you join their Priority club, which you can do when ordering and arranging the fitting it automatically allows you to take on advantage on the discounted offers, if this case it should save me £25, think they are coming in at £148.00 or thereabouts. Must admit i'm a bit wary but, i have to do it simples! I wanna rock till I die!

I'll let everyone know my thoughts when i get them to a gig.

2. Great response peeps. How do I determine which set is for me? Obviously £160 a throw I want it to be right first time, rather than buying filter after filter till I get there. I was looking for somewhere in my area colne, lancashire that may be able to assist. I fear if I get er25 I won't be able to hear a thing. Is there a retailer out there where you can try the varying types of filter?

3. Hi, I've been to the audiologist today, as I have been misinterpreting words recently. So thought not everyone can be talking sh1t. Turns out my earing has been shot at, lost 40% coverage in the high frequency range and it has been caused by noise exposure, ie playing in band for 25 years.

I have been advised to prevent further damage to invest in some specialist ear plugs for musicians. Has anyone else suffered for hearing damage, earplug advice? I understand Proguard are one of the best earplugs out there?

Cheers

4. Hi,

For sale I have a Fender Gig bag that holds 2 basses. There is plenty of space for leads and the like with it's 6 additional pockets. Unfortunately one of the straps did break, so it currently has just the one. I only ever needed one as it was strung over my shoulder. Is has normal side handle and another handle at the head of the guitar. The other slight flaw is a minor rip on one side of the bag, shown in photos, i have used it since the rip and it hasn't got any bigger, i have covered it with some velcro and it appears to have done the job. This is quite bulky for postage so would prefer collection ideally, I would imagine postage being about £7 at a guess.

£10 for the bag, cost £55 new.

Thanks
Tony

5. Hi,

I have for sale my Pocket Rocket S1b bass headphone amplifier, complete with original headphones. Only used a couple of time so it is in pristine condition. Photos are of actual item. I think it was about £40 new, (xmas present), i'm looking for £20 posted.

Here is the blurb:

The battery-powered Pocket Rock-It S1b allows you to practice silently in any location, and have great tones at your disposal. The rotating input plug has 90 degrees of motion, so the S1b can plug into any bass guitar jack - no cable needed!

With a "big" or "tite" setting, you'll always have the tone you need for the style you're playing. The Filter control is a continuously variable EQ that adjusts high and mid-range frequencies of the amp emulation model selected.

If you do decide to let the rest of the world in on your S1b sessions, use the line out for recording or preamp applications. Jam with your CDs or MP3s with the line in.

Designed, developed and engineered in the USA.

Features

Instrument Input: 6.3mm male plug T/S
Instrument Impedance: 1.0 M ohms
CD/Line in: 3.5mm Jack T/R/S
Line input impedance: >100 K ohms
Line level input: 1.0 volts RMS
Headphone/Line out: 3.5mm Jack T/R/S
Headphone/Line out load: 8 Ohms min
Battery (Alkaline or rechargeable): 9V

6. Well folks should I or shouldn't I. I currently have the bass iq and think it's great, however I have had my head turned by the wah one. Does anyone have any experience with this pedal, the pros and cons etc. If you were to buy and had a choice which would you go for?
Cheers

7.
Done this song successfully with either an EBS Unichorus, on the flanger setting. Or a Boss BF2 flanger. The Unichorus has the added advantage of having a chorus as well, and being able to mix both effects.

Nige
Hi, when you say mix, you can vary the effect of both at the same time?
Thanks
Tony

8. Thoughts on the above, good flanger? I have originally been looking at the stereo mistress but it has a huge footprint but liked the sound. Would I be a million miles away with this? Thanks Tony

9. Hi,

Recently got the ampkit and downloaded the free version of amplitube and so far I have been really impressed, the ability to import then change tempo, built in tuner and mertronome etc. Awesome!

What I am trying to work out is how to change amps and input from lead to bass?

Help!?

Tony

10. Hi,

I currently have a Korg Pitchblack, i love it, the screen is clear and it has been reliable throughout.

There are plenty of good reviews coming from the Polytune, what I wanted to know is how it copes or how do you set ip up to deal with alternate tunings? In my case one band I play with tune to d♯. This is a pretty straight forward process with the pitchblack, hit the string and voila! I just don't see how the strum all strings at once feature would work on alternate tunings, is there a specific set-up for de-tuning? Please enlighten me and give me your honest opinions/reviews.

Thanks
Tony

11.
I've been a Unichorus user for a while.. in fact its the only pedal I own 2 of! Lovely lush sound. Has a natural 'top end' as well as the low end retention you'd expect. Flanger sounds fantastic as well.

The only flanger I've used that I preferred was the old brown Boss BF-2B (which was lovely) - But this comes a close second, paired with a top class Chorus tone. EBS Unichorus = WIN!
Two? That's just pure gluttony!! Ha ha must be good!

12. Hi,

I am looking for a chorus pedal, these two seem to be quite popular. The EBS is a flanger also which is kinda swinging me in that direction, and i own a number of ebs pedals already so know the quality.

Any thoughts peeps? Alternatives? anything to offer?

Cheers
Tony

13. Well, I spotted a nice bargain in ikea. A black gloss kitchen door in the clearance section for a £1! As I only had 4 pedals it was perfect. Cut 1 1/"2 one side and stuck it to one end so it raised the board at an angle with "no more nails". It's compact and looks great in my opinion! For the power supply I use a spot on power adaptor, which has been brilliant. Drilled one hole for each pedal so daisy chain could be fed through from underneath. Regards to tuners the korg pitch black is solid with a nice display but would cost nearer to £45

14.
Use this (I nicked it from the Bassclef YTS thread) if you need help knowing the names of the notes on the fretboard...

http://www.studybass.com/tools/bass-clef-notes/

As for score, the spaces between the lines from bottom to top is ACE G (that's me that is :) ). After that, it's practice.
I'm in no position to advise on this as I have the same issue. However, as regards to the notes on the stave, my old tutor gave me some phrases to remember the notes.

GBDFA = Good birds don't fly away
ACEG = All cows eat grass

15.
I've got a Sansamp Programmable DBBI that I'm getting increasingly fed up with. I'm beginning to dislike the mid scoop.

I'm looking at alternatives at the moment, I've narrowed it down to:

MXR M80
DHA VT2

but also looking into:

Radial Bassbone
EBS MicroBass II
Could be interested if you decide to sell.
