I have only ever seen 1 other in the flesh and that was years ago. I believe these were only made for a couple of years in the early 70's. She only weighs 7lbs and is a semi hollow construction. The sound however is far from light weight the pickup sounds huge and really raspy. She has numerous chips, dings, scratches and marks but the finish is I believe all original as it is much brighter under the scratch plate. There are no extra routs or mods. The neck has been defetted at some time in the past and has been made fretless, I guess this could be easily reversed if you wanted, but it is slim and plays really easily. The pickup is original. I have changed the pots a while back as the original ones were past their best but they will be included. There is a hole in the control panel between the pots, it had some sort of bypass switch. The tuner ferrules are missing. The wear on the higher register on the neck looks like genuine play wear and is not as bad as the pictures suggest and certainly doesn't affect playability. There are some extra holes under the bridge, but from my research the one fitted is original. the original chrome bridge and pickup covers have long gone. She comes in a fairly ropey (not sure if its original) hard case, but it is sound if not pretty. Quite an early Thunder 3, the serial number is 4103465, is that 1984? Any way, in great condition, has some dings and rash the biggest is in the usual place under the jack socket corner but otherwise in great shiny shape. The thru neck is fabulous, no fret wear to speak off and no dings at all on the neck. Right: There are no electronics, bar the jack socket and the toggle switch (tip broken). No pickups, no EQ no wiring etc, so being sold as a rebuild project, install your own system or remake to original, whatever.
