Lots of strange looks downwards to see if both my hands were at either end of the same string....
lol thats the one ! -
The Eggle was my first delve into 5 string , and into fretless. Bought it sight unseen from ebay , and gigged with it the following night which I was pretty pleased about as I'd never played fretless before.
Biggest dilemna was having to actually physically put my fingers on the correct string to start each song lol. -
Is that an Eggle Milan bass I see there ??
Yes indeedy. Well spotted -
New jazz on it's way tomorrow . I can't see me being at work very long lol

Very Very nice collection!! ..... I thought you sold the pentabuzz a couple of years ago.
-
Fellas , my heart bleeds for you !! I'm sure some day someone will come to watch you LOL

I just explained in other thread but I'll make it known here too. I can't commit to wether I can go yet due to my wedding being only 3 weekends after. So it's probably best to not rely on me. If things are on target enough for me to be able to kill a day at bassists heaven then I'll be there
Will be able to take my new baby too if I make it woooooohoooooooo !! -
BTW, are you going to the Bass Bash next month Nick?
Nik
I really can't commit to that yet Nik . Got a wedding 3 weekends after that and one of those weekends is spent in Dublin. Just depends on if the organisational side of things is up to target. Fingers X'd . You'll be among the first to know coz I might jump in with you fellas in the minibus if there's room

Nice collection Nik .... I was after a RBV a few years ago and couldn't find one anywhere. Awesome looking bass ... what bridge is it wearing?
edit: and don't you have any additions to this thread yet? lol -
That's come out really nicely .. congrats!!
Sometimes badly seated frets can give a sympathetic noise (no they don't go aaaargh)
LOL LOL -
Thank god for high speed internet lol

Hi Trev that's an awesome price for lessons from a top pro player .. do you have any references? soundclips / webpage? Who have you played with in a professional capacity?
Cheers,
Nick. -
You certainly look overjoyed by your new requisition lol
There's too many to mention really!
But Merton's Status Groove 5, Nig's G&L L2500, WalMan's Wal Custom, Luke's Ibanez Fretless and one of Water of Tyne's vintage Fenders quickly spring to mind
We can but dream, I suppose.....
Nig has a L2500? I thought he was a 4 banger G&Ler.
I used to own a groove 5 and it was a fantastic bass!
My fave within basschat at the moment has to be Homer's HH Bongo ... I dont know if it would ever be a bass I'd keep for ever , but it sure looks beautiful!
(Truth be known I've been waiting for it to come up for sale and it never did ) -
That's a lovely looking jazz!!
-
So your next bass up for sale is a Tom kennedy signature Fodera?? Wowser !!!
Just got in from a gig at Smollensky's on the Strand, where the bass amp literally burst into flames when I switched it on!!! Bits of burning speaker cone were being spat out onto the floor!! I'm just glad my legs weren't in front of it at the time, or I'd have got burned too...
The rest of the gig went OK, despite the fact that the entire backline and PA for the show then consisted of one mackie powered monitor that the guitarist and I were both going through...
Steve
Good grief!! Please tell me it wasnt your accugroove speakers Steve lol -
Very nice collection Nick!
The G&L is fabulous and IIRC, sounded great when you had it at last year's SE Bass Bash.. What are the mods on your Fender Jazz 5?
Nik
Hi mate ,
The jazz 5 has the audere jz3 with the original Fender pups. Beautiful tones to be had from it now. I just wasn't a passive bass man.
Just bought a cs jazz V today to join my little stable
Nick. -
You didnt decide on the Glaub after seeing Colin Hodgkinson did you?
-
You done a really nice job on that!! Looking forward to seeing Fender Japan Porn (Part 2)
-
Nice stable . 3 very different sounds
I love how the vibe of the jazz bass can change so dramatically with a change in pickguard ! ( As you can see in my thread , mine has white pearloid over sunburst).
Nick. -
Please excuse my less than adequate photographic skills lol
