He's a lovely bloke too, just go up to him and introduce yourself as a fellow bass player. He's done sessions with pretty much every big UK name in the 70's and 80's plus others. He's also famous for writing the bass line to Lou Reeds "Take a Walk on The Wild Side" and not getting paid any more than studio scale for it!
Maybe I'll drop by and see him then. It's always cool meeting someone with that amount of experience under there belt. If they're wearing one of course. -
For all the excellent work he's done read about it here he's probably best known for writing Clive Dunns' "Grandad". Go figure
Thanks for that Andy ..... one of those bassists that everyone's heard, but not known who it was.
I didnt know who Jamerson was until 5 years ago lol -
I'd like to catch up with Herbie but I'm not going to drive back from Shoreham at 11pm.
Strange thing about Herbie Flowers is.... his name is very familiar to me, as I've heard him mentioned for years. But I have no idea who he is, or what he's done . The photo on that ad gives me a first impression of him I could do without lol

There's a thread dedicated to amp techies in the repair section

Cracking basses . I gigged mine almost exclusively for getting on for 20 years.
Now retired from gigging in favour of more strings, but still gets regularly played in my bass room.
It'll be my boys first bass -
Maybe it's an incentive to register to unregistered nosey people

Blimey that takes me back some years when my ole man used to have cb in the car. My handle was "Mr Bassman" lol

Here's Andy Collins' (as listed above) website. http://www.antech-systems.com
I've since had my abm serviced by him and he did a great job. Touch over £60 if I remember rightly.
