1. hey gareth & all, if you are looking for free backing tracks, dont miss this site: http://www.wikiloops.com be jammin!
2.
could someone make me some reggea grooves? that would be nice
I've been playing to tracks from this platform, some good reggae people on there: http://www.wikiloops.com If you are looking for people doing groove on demand things, that'd be worth a checkout.
3.
Hehehe lol. As for recording stuff into my laptop, what is the best way? I have a trace head with a lineout, and my sansamp, but nothing else to go between that and laptop, ideas?
some kind of USB-Interface with a proper line in for Instruments would be nice... you might try with adaptors from Line Out to your mini-line in jack, but thats propably gonna sound a bit crappy. For mixing mp3-backing and line in signal, audacity seems to be the freeware of choice. Good luck!
4.
I think I will change the loopsearch so that you can select the instrument you DONT want to be in your search results, that will make it easier to spot jamtracks missing your instrument.
Done! hey, friday night again, and you aint jammin out? come jammin in!
5. thanks for the link... quite fun, even though my first time-tries all sounded a bit robotic ;-) for some real-recorded loops, check this (no chord on demand tho there): http://www.wikiloops.com
6.
This is a great Idea man. I know its in it's early stages at the moment but once the layout is a little more user friendly you could have a really sweet thing there!
Hey & thanx for the checkout! I know the layout has its weaknesses, not every function is really self-explanatory, and not everyones for reading the FAQs, so much I've learned ;-) Thinking about another animated clip to explain the various ways to navigate the session DB... What makes it complicated is that different features are needed, depending on if you really sit there with a bass practising or if you just cruising by to hear some music.... I think I will change the loopsearch so that you can select the instrument you DONT want to be in your search results, that will make it easier to spot jamtracks missing your instrument. Most people dont seem to get the option of "kicking" an instrument from a band (if you like the beat, but theres a Bass you dont like, you may return to the beat-only track that way). If theres anything you find extremely irritating or misleading about the page, please let me know! I've been working on it for so long now, I really dont see theese things any longer I'm affraid. hey, friday night, a laid back weekend everyone and thanks again for all comments!
7.
looks like a very cool sight, if/when i get some recording equipment i'll start contributing. my only criticism is a volume button would be nice, but it's not a big deal
added volume and track controls yesterday! latest session on wikiloops (check this out...) http://www.wikiloops.com/viewpage.php?page_id=860&riff=0
8. latest update: we got a new drummer around who just supplied some extra funky drums today :-) I already posted a little slappndiwipp on it, but it would be way cool if one of you guys do someting even better ... now hear this: http://www.wikiloops.com/viewpage.php?page_id=816
9. try this as well: http://www.wikiloops.com
10. thanx for joining up! I guess its worth mentioning to first time quick-visitors: If the session you discovered at wikiloops has a bassplayer, you may always kick him from the track and replace him yourself, theres multiple players allowed - basicly, one could choose one drumtrack and invite a hundred bassists to upload their own version (which again is basicly what I' doin here :-) had a hard day... cu @ wikiloops.com
11. oh bugger... thanx a lot for giving notice on this embarrassing typo... I'll get that fixed right away :-) Volume controls are on the to do list... Thanx a lot for your feedback, keep it comin!
12. this page looks so sorry, I could not stop to listen... btw., has anyone heard about MrSnuts...
13. guys and gals, is everyone getting married today? I was hoping for some kind of feedback... thanx!
14. Good evening everyone! I would like to invite you to wikiloops.com where the online jam has been started on april 1st. Its free and a bit different than other jamtrack sites or collaboration projects, so if either category is of interest to you, just give it a try. I would feel honoured if one or the other would like to leave a comment on the project, all feedback is very welcome. If you have the gear to do some homerecording, there is a crowd of hungry guitarists out there wanting your bass quite badly, or to put it in other words: Now, its just me asking to support this project, if you decide to do so, there will be many saying thanks :-) so check it out and rip it apart: http://www.wikiloops.com thank you and groovy greetings!
15. Well, here I am, fully registerred and entering the sphere of british bassists... now thats exciting! Things I'd like to let you know about me? 30year old male living in some village on the western border of germany. I do play bass, a selfbuild upright (my dad in laws a luthier, lucky me) and some cheap four string electric. I started playing the drums, later got some minimal reggae guitar skills, then discovered playing bass when homerecording my first solo project album in 2002. Oh, yes, started playing alto-saxophone last summer, too :-) Had a little freelance studio with some friends for a couple of years, the website is still on (funkhausflowsdorf.com) for those that really want to dig that up. So, I'm up to something new now, looking for bassists all over the web to check out my new project, something people come up with that dont have their favorite musician living next door: I have spent three month coding on a new website wich I'd like to invite you to check out. (time to use this great one: ) Don't want to be a spamming pest, but I'm really quite sure some people following my invitation might be glad they did so - the site features a whole lot of beats and backing tracks (367 to this minute to be honest, not one midi thing there) that are a great source of fun when practising. I put a lot of effort into a nice speed and style navigation to be able to switch from jam to jam while practising whatever I got in my hands. Now, that being too simple, I added the feature to be able to re-upload whatever you jammed to the track you chose. You hear it comin? YES, I am looking for bassists of all ages and style preferences who' like to take part in this sort-of online jam session! It is online since april 1st (chose fools day on purpose), so it's really just getting started. Thanx in advance to all who got the time to check it out and give me some feedback, I'm looking forward to hear some international deep notes soon on http://www.wikiloops.com! greetings Dick Snuts *** I hope no one feels offended by this posting, I thought honesty about my reasons of showing up here is better than leaving suspicious hints here and there. thanx for your time reading this, I do appreciate it.
