Living Colour fan here too, from Vivid. Somewhere, i have a VHS of them playing the Arezzo Wave gig in Italy from 1993, i think. I taped it at the time, when i lived in Italy.

I used to be a huge Chilis fan, from Mother's Milk. I also caught them live twice, in '95 and '99. They are now however, a pale imitation of what they once were. For me, they lost that spark a long time ago. I'm almost cringing at some of their songs/performances these days.

Dood, it's a fantastic bass. A little heavier than most, probably due to the ash body, but that doesn't bother me. The craftsmanship all over is absolutely top! The neck pocket for example, is faultless. I don't think i've seen a better example of one. I am however playing may latest acquisition (US, Oly white, FSR, P bass) as my No.1 though. So the CIJ is an amazing backup. Almost too good to just sit there. If i were to sell it, someone would get a terrific P bass.

To me that's little more than a party trick. I find the fact he reminds me a little of Owen Wilson funny though. You know, Zoolander, You Me & Dupree

I have to disagree and i only mean to express my opinion on them. I have been unfortunate enough to have to use a Warwick Sweet 15 combo (1x15, 150W) (Not the one CK is selling, i stress) on a couple of occasions, in practice and it's absolutely awful I couldn't be heard [i]at all[/i]. If you play in a skiffle band, fine, but coming from normally using more powerful Ampegs... I know, it's probably an unfair comparison, but it's put be off Ws for life.

This is just my own personal opinion and i'm sure there are many happy Warwick users out there

You may well find a nice second hand bass, in which case it may well look used/old already. If you want to stick it in the hold, i'd still bubble wrap the headstcock and neck joint areas in the case for extra safety.
VAT is the killer when importing, the rest isn't that bad, particularly when you're saving a bundle anyway.

Here's my new MIA Precision. It's a 'Factory Special Run' from Corona, California 2005. Although i bought it new (imported). It's essentially a US Standard Precision (no S1 switiching though) with a few nice differences/upgrades. I haven't seen these in any shops in the UK (ok, just London), online or in-store.

I've longed for an Olympic white/black pickguard P for a while and i don't really like any of the current US 'P' colours, so finding this was a result. This is certainly my No.1 bass.

Main features are:

Olympic white
70s headstock logo
Schaller straplocks
Deluxe tuners
String-thru bridge
Molded hardcase

Having owned a MIM and currently also owning a CIJ ash 3TS Precision, i can safely say this bass is the best of my bunch. I'm chuffed with it. For a start it's lighter than my CIJ ash P, but it just plays so smoothly and outputs great even tone along the neck. The thicker headstock, deluxe tuners and string-thru body really makes it feel solid. Oh and the strings it comes with are actually pretty good. I generally slap on a set of £30 strings on my new basses, but i really don't feel the need on this occasion. I'm loving the 110 E string

The JB75-94US range comes with ashtrays, binding etc. I think i've seen it in 3TS. THese are only about £317

Got hold of my new bass today, although it had been sitting in the depot for a few days (damn customs charges). Still, it's a bass (issue) i've never seen in a shop in this country. It's US too, so it's done a round the world trip: California --> Japan --> UK. I'll post a thread and pics once i get it home etc

I'm not sure if they'll show it again soon. I t was part of an 80s tv series thing they were doing a while back. But i'll keep an eye out. I can't record digitally though
