Ah, so that's where it ended up!!

Is that the custom order for someone else that Mark recently had advertised on his site?

I put a deposit down on this, if it is that bass........

    Bummer.

    Saving for one now!!

    Looks amazing.

  2. I have the TH500 and use it with 2 x DB112 cabinets.

It is awesome. I cannot get a bad sound out of it.
I've used with with my P bass and flats; 2 different Jazzes with rounds and my Stingray.Using a pick, fingers, thumb etc.

I have recently loaned my rig out to Steve Amadeo - he's on here - a great guy and bass player who knows his Onions (or Moussaka....) and he gave the rig glowing reports and was texting me during the gig saying how impressed he was with it - he has DB and GS series cabs and a DB750 and used to have an AG500, so he knows his Aguilar gear........

I also loaned the rig out recently to another bass playing mate - he's not on here, but again, he's a seriously good player with decent gear.
He said it was the best rig he's ever used and is now looking to move his Ampeg SVT gear on to fund his newly found Aguilar love.

Hope that helps in some way?!!

Gear4music's expected delivery 1st December! What's up with that?

Bought from USA Amazon instead. 8-12 days delivery but even with import duty, doesn't work out too much more.

Exactly what I did and for the same reasons.

They're made in China by the way, not in Germany.

Behringer have a phenomenal facility in China now.

  4. Thanks for the info!!

Reagrding getting hold of them in the UK; it's been nothing short of a nightmare.

I placed an order with DV274 back in May as they were showing them as 'in stock'.
As it turns out, they weren't physically 'in stock', but expected within a week or so.

After numerous emails and dates being put back, DV247 had to refund me as the due date from Behringer for them to be in the UK was pushed back to Dec.
I then found that Thomann were showing them in stock; went to order them and had a response saying that they they couldn't give me a date as there were problems at Behringer's end.

Ultimately, we ordered them through Amazon from a US supplier.
Not ideal, but we finally have them.

I think that if you order with a UK supplier, you'll be waiting a long time.

  5. This is something I will be keeping a very close eye on, as we have just received a set of P1 Powerplays and am about to pull the trigger on 5 x sets of ACS T1 in ears!!

We thought, for the money, we'd try the P1's for a bit and buy the proper job earphones, then save up and buy 5 x sets of the Shure PSM 900's sometime next year when we've saved enough.

Let me know the score.....otherwise, the P1's are going back as they haven't been used.

We'll be using them with a Behringer X32 by the way..........

  6. I've just pretty much used the version off Jools Holland.

I'm not rehearsing with the band; just doing the gig tomorrow and their bass player pointed me in the direction of that, which is pretty decent and very much like the synth version off the record.

    Quoted for painful truth!

As a recent convert, I'd second recommendations for a good lightweight 2x12 and a class D head. My TC blacksmith is amazing, though not the cheapest. The RH750 would be a fine substitute, and is versatile enough to cover any sound you might want. There are plenty of good options for 2x12s out there, and if you've enough left in the budget you could always buy 2 for more versatility!

    I have an Aguilar Tonehammer 500 and 2 x DB112 cabs.

    It is an awesome rig.

    Check them out.

    The head weighs about 2kg!

For small gigs and small rehearsals I take 1 cab (rarely).
Generally I take the 2 cabs, but they are easy to lift etc and sound immense.

  8. Hello.

I've got a dep gig this sat and 'rather be' by Clean Bandit has just been added to the set.
I've just had a quick listen to it on my lunch and there's no 'real' bass guitar part on there - seems to be synth / keys etc.

Has anyone either transcribed it, or do any of you play a version within a standard drums, guitar, bass, keys set up? If so, what have you been playing?

  9. I think he term 'made it' or 'making it' means different things to other people.
There's clearly people on the lists above that have 'made it' in quite a big way - if they love their job of playing for Billy Joel for example.

I don't know about you guys, but I think I would consider myself to be at least on my way to 'making it' if I was earning all of my money from doing what I wanted to do in music.
I mean, playing bass in a band I was involved in writing the songs for.
If I had to do something else (but still involved in music), then I don't think I would be completely satisfied.

I'm thinking along the lines of - say your first love was playing blues guitar and that was your dream - 'making it' would be earning your money and being a successful recording / touring artist.
If you were still playing music for a living, but say in a band that didn't really get your creative juices flowing - say as a guitarist for a pop type solo artist, then would you consider yourself to have 'made it', or would that be a case of doing whatever it took to play music full time to hopefully ultimately give you the basis you need to indulge your true love of blues guitar?

I know guys that really love the bands they are in, but actually work for known bands as guitar techs and drum techs. Have they made it, I don't think so.
yes they're working in music, but it's not 'their' thing and what they really want to do.

  10. I was in a band who supported Julliette and the licks when they toured the UK a few years back.
Great guys and a great bass player called Paul Lill.
Had an awesome JPJ type custom made Jazz.

It was surreal standing at a bar chatting to Juliette Lewis about General life stuff.
I kept thinking 'Brad Pitt has nailed you' for some odd reason!! ; )
I also had the motor home scene off 'from dusk till dawn' going through my head!

She was really really nice and friendly though.
