It's understandible. You've picked up a load of new skills and techniques and you're keen to show them off. I'm not being patronising when I say that I used to be just the same. In one band I used to be in, I used to overplay so much it was offensive.

I would counter that overplaying os worse than underplaying. By underplaying you're not adding anything to the song. When you verplay you detract from the song.

Are the 5 tuners all in-line?

The only bass I've played with Piezo and magnetic pickups was an Ibanez EDA900. ThePiezo makes the bass sound very 'zingy' but I don't remember it making the harmonics stand out that much more.

I don't know of any aftermarket piezo bridgesthat are a standard retro fit on a Fender. You'd also need to do some routing to the body for the preamp required by the piezo pickups. So,with all the mods required, A jazz pickup by the bridge would be an easier and more standard option.

Very good clip by the way. I thick playing a fretless suits his sounds. I remember reading an old intervew where he said he sets the EQ on his Hartke to an unhappy face - you can hear how wellit cuts through! I've never played a Warwick Thumb. Is it just me or are the necks THAT thick?

The only ropey bit of his playing was the dodgy intonation on the high chorus part at the end. My problem with the performance is that it suffered from the usual Later with Jools Holland blight of being overblown and over-embellished. The original was performed by one of 'the' power trios, so the army of backing singers of percussionsts kind of ruins the feel.

Depends on what cab(s) you are going to be using. If I had a pair of 4 Ohm cabs (which I do as it happes) then any heads that couldn't drive a 2 Ohm load would be a waste of time.

If you have an ebay account, then a good way to ascertain market value is to do a search for completed listings of whatever item it is you wish to sell. Items tend to go for around the same amount, give or take a few quid.

Jimmy Johnson's work on the new Planet X album, Quantum, is amazing. I've been learning/trying to learn Matrix Gate the last couple of evenings.

They're around 6 foot each. I'd be willing to trade the pair for something worth £45 - £50. Any less I'd be robbin' myself, etc.. , etc...

These aren't any old speaker cables . If I'd paid the going rate for them, they'd have cost me around £80 each. That said, I'd have been a total mug to pay that. I got them from Andertons a few years ago when they bought all of the distributors stock. I paid around £35 each for them.

If he lets it go for under £500 then it would be a good project bass. Stick a jazz pickup in it and either go for vol/vol/tone with a side mounted jack, or go the whole hog and bung a nice Audere 3Z preamp in it.

True. That'd give me 5 speaker cables.

I have a pair of high quality Monster Studio Pro 1000 jack to jack speaker cables that I no longer use because my rig is all speakon.

Is anyone interested in purchasing the pair or swapping for some other interesting item? An overdrive/distortion pedal would be useful.

I simply couldn't justify it when I regularly tell everyone that I have the best bass for me, etc.... I told so many friends in the hope they'd buy it and give it a good home and give the seller something more reasonable than the paltry £159 that the tossers at X Electrical ended up giving him.

I've owned and sold two. Much as I wanted to get on with it, it was just too wacky to be that useable. Many will disagree with me though.

Not asmuch of a steal as the £225 one contributor to this forum was asking for a ATK405.

You can happily run a transistor amp without a speaker load.
