Might be interested in having them off you once you've managed to source replacements *likes crappy sounds*
yeah thats right, only the one though, i'll send it your way when i manage to get hold of a normal TBpickup :)

  2.
Those eBay pickups are the modern Thunderbird pickups. Are those the ones you want?
3. Welcome!

    Fender Jaguar CIJ!

This is now back on the market, so i thought id'e better take some good photos and show you how sexy this fender is!

•Firstly! Mine is NOT very buzzy! i'm not sure if this is all jags or not, but this is the only one i have owned but its fine for me!

•The frets are bass'icly mint! i would rate them at 10/10

•The Jag has been upgraded by me with a shaller adjustable bridge, with left/right moving rails. Not sure if it made a differense to the sound, but its a solid bit of metal and adds to the value

•The neck and body i would rate at 8.5/10, theres a few little blems, but you can see from the pics non which detract form the booty of the bass!

•For me it doesn't sound like a jazz bass! sure the basic tone is there, but it has its own unique sound! very warm, with a lot of bite at the bridge pickup.

•Switches for the pickups, and a S1 Switch!!!!

•Active two band preamp!, never used it though :) i made a video demonstrating the sounds

For sale, i'm looking for £500 ish. fender don't make these anymore, so obviously the value is going nowhere but up!
Bass centre sold the last one for £750! and iv'e seen a few decent ones sell on eBay for £630. (trust me i was bidding on it!!!!)

.... does anyone hear a buzz?

    thats my jag too.

  6.
I already own what IMO are the coolest basses ever...

However that dosen't stop me from GASing for something T-Bird shaped with 5 strings too!
Woaa awsome! They have a very futuristic coolnes to them. I bet they will get cooler with age!

  7.
This is my current cool wall....
Anyone notice my cool wall? i have a stingray and a couple of norman fenders for when i want to be sensible and earn money :)

  8. Loving the posts!, that Lakeland certainly ticks my box.

i think any these basses im seeing hear all have the iconic rock and roll stigma attached. you just have to have the attitude and look to pull it off.

i was thinking.. what makes you want to play bass guitar in the first place? being solid tight and able to hold a tight grove and noodle over chord changes? nah! rock out on stage playing anything that sounds cool and having fun!

  9.
thought my ears were burning hahaha.

Yes Jez and Prime are right, I love my Jag.

They do have issues with this humming, however find me a bass with such tonal options for the price that wouldnt.

The buzzing can be sorted as long as you ground the bass properly. However getting all the cavity walls shielded pretty much sorted mine out. They are lovely machines though and a little buzz in no way should put you off one of these truely amazing basses.

The preamp gets slated, but I am more than happy with it. Its quite crude, however due to the amount of thump and twang that it can produce I just find it hard to get a bad sound out of it.

Its ment for rock n roll and thats what it does best.
i shielded mine.. took 5 mins :) sound quite to me! most recording studio worth any money wont have awful wiring in the mains too.
    Jags are awesome. :)

  10.
The Ampeg AEB-1 s are well cool in my eyes, not sure I'd like to play one but they look wonderfully retro

Oooo, how awesome does that look!!! i want one!, :)

  11.
Never owned one but the Gibson Thunderbird is one cool looking bass.
Just got one today! set up properly... its a go anywhere bass, a head turning. and a head scratcher as nobody really knows what a real thunderbird sounds like. :)

  12.
You got a Gibson Thunderbird for around $600? Which one?
Used! :) and roughly!

ive been searching all over the net, SD do one... but i can seam to find anywhere to buy it! Thing is i want to keep the origina gibson sound :)

  13. dong get me wrong, i love my fenders...

but. everyone i have met owning a US made fender, (including guitars) of which is older than a few years has terribly worn frets!

now, i had a music man SUB taht i played the sh*t out of for 4 years solid. stainless roto's; and no fret wear what so ever.
also i have an old jaguar import, 1996. no fret wear!
yet my US jazz which has has a very easy life, has started to show ageing in the frets.

a few guitarist i know have has the same problem, really badly worn frets on there strats and teles'

so fender... why? any one els had this problem. or is it that all Pompey fender owning musicians play with a very heavy hand.
