2. Mike brought my two GK neo 112 cabs from me, traveled half way across the country to get them. A pleasure to deal with and a nice guy! Very quick communication. Thanks again!

4. Quite a few people have been asking about postage or splitting the cabs, I would rather not do either but depending on how much interest I receive for collection, I may reconsider.
5. Hi all, I have for sale two Gallien Krueger Neo 112 mkII cabs, both with RoqSolid covers. I brought these only a week ago with the intention of these replacing my much loved 1 x 12 Bag End cab to give me more volume, as finding a second Bag End cab was proving very illusive. The day after I brought them a Bag End S15X-D appeared for sale and I couldn't say no . Therefore, these have to go! Here is the original listing from BlindTiger: http://basschat.co.u...62#entry2391162 Both cabs and covers are in excellent condition, I'm looking for £400 for the pair which is what I paid for them. Pick up from Leeds. Any questions please let me know. Cheers, Nick *NOW SOLD*

8. Hi everyone. It is with some regret that I am selling my Fender Marcus Miller 4 string Jazz Bass. This is the new made in mexico version with the upgraded electronics and minor cosmetic changes. I have had this bass for six months so it is in nearly new condition, never gigged and only used in the studio, as it was the last bass in, unfortunately it's the first to go. The bass sounds excellent, definitely very close to the Marcus Miller's classic sound. The action is set quite low and has a fast thin neck which is very easy to get around on. The specs are as follows: Body: Ash Finish: Natural polyester Scale: 34" Fingerboard: Maple No of frets: 20 Nut width: 1.5" String spacing: 19mm Bridge: Leo Quan Badass II Pickups: American vintage single coils Electronics: 18v active with treble & bass boost, true passive switch. The bass is sold with the padded Fended gig bag it came in, with all accessories and documentation. It is strung with DR coated Black Beauties which are a couple of months old. The bass also comes with 2 extra matching black tradition knobs as I'm not a fan of the silver ones (original silver ones currently fitted). I am looking for [s]£750[/s] £700 for this bass. If you have any questions please let me know . I'm based in Leeds, you would be more than welcome to come and try it out. Pickup only please. I will be at the London Bass Guitar Show in a few weeks so I can take it with me then and meet there if the buyer wishes. Would consider trading for a MTD Kingston KX or Yamaha TRB5ii (or similar style bass) plus cash. Cheers, Nick
9. Hey all, I've recently acquired a black Encore P bass for free and I'm toying with the idea of making it a project bass. The deciding factor at the moment is what type of wood the body is made from, as I will no doubt be ripping everything else off and replacing it! I was wondering if anyone knew what wood the body is? I have searched the internet with no luck, different sites say it is basswood (good!) others say 'composite'! Or, is there a way of telling the type of wood from visual inspection? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to end up, as the phrase goes, 'polishing a turd'!
10.
Hi NIck, I've just signed up to the basschat site.I am a bass tutor in the Leeds 17 area.I studied with Pete Laffan for a few years and agree with jim.Pete is in Keighley so if that's too far I may be a good alternative.I also teach guitar. For more info go to my website http://www.gordonclayton.co.uk regards Gordon
Hi Gorden, thank you for the offer, I have already arranged lessons with Pete, starting tomorrow night ! Hopefully the travelling won't be too much of a problem, it is only one train ride away. Cheers, Nick
11. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a Bass tutor in the Leeds or Huddersfield area? I could maybe travel to Manchester but I would rather stay local(ish). I am looking to improve my jazz and funk improvisations, I am also very keen to learn bass clef, I can read treble clef very well which comes from playing the saxophone for 7 years! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Nick
12. Good luck mate! My first bass exam was also Rockschool, did my grade 6 a few years ago now!
13. I currently have a Yamaha TRB 1005 and I am looking to get a new 5 string very soon. I am pretty set on a MM Stingray 5 which i played this week, I was blown away by the way they play and sound. I was wondering if there are any other basses that I should try in the same price range (£1000 - £1500) before I commit to buying, but more importantly, where I can get a chance to test them. I am based in Leeds and in my experience it is difficult to come across basses in this price range, so I am willing to travel to a more specialist bass shop. A few that have caught my eye include Overwater aspiration Deluxe 5 and the G&L L2500. I mainly play rock, metal and a bit of funk, I am not gigging at the moment but might be in the future. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
