  1. Klos are currently taking pre-orders for Fender replacement necks:

    https://klosguitars.com/products/carbon-fiber-bass-neck-and-pickguard-upgrade-50-deposit

I've ordered one, so I'll happily report back when it arrives in a couple of months. I took the plunge based on the positive reviews of their basses and their replacement guitar necks. Also, their customers service has been very good thus far, fast email response to any questions.

  2. Hi all, I'm reluctantly moving on my Nordstrand Acinonyx, as it's not getting enough live use to justify keeping and I need to free up some funds.

These are fantastic basses, very lightweight with good balance, and a versatile and punchy sound. This example is in excellent condition, with no knocks or dings worth mentioning.

The bass will come with three sets of strings - The original flats it came with (brand unknown, but they're great), LaBella RXB (used for about 15 mins, the gauge wasn't for me) and some D'addario EXL160S currently fitted with plenty of life left.

    Technical Details:

    • 780mm scale (about 30.7”)
    • 17mm spacing at bridge
    • 1.4” wide nut
    • Alder body with Indian Rosewood fingerboard
    • Tortoise pick guard
    • 2 Nordstrand single coil chrome cover pickups
    • 4 push button pickup selector switches (including “all in” series mode)
    • 4 tone selections including flat, traditional tone roll off, heavy tone roll of, and mid notch
    • Very light weight - averaging 6.5 pounds
    • 2 way spoke wheel truss rod
    • Compound radius for excellent playability
    • Proprietary custom US Hipshot bridge
    • Proprietary custom licensed Hipshot oval tuning machines

This is currently a collection only sale, it doesn't come with a case and I don't currently have any packing materials. I'm based in Leeds, but I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance to meet a buyer.

    I'm looking for £725 £700

Send me a message if you have any questions :)

  5. Hi all, I've seen something for sale that I really want so I'm looking to sell this beautiful Maruszczyk Jake 5p. If it sells, this will be withdrawn.

    Spec:

    • Finished in solid black with BWB 3 ply pickguard (you can see the grain through the paint)
    • Swamp ash body
    • Bird's eye maple neck and fingerboard with carbon rods in a matte finish
    • Luminlay side dots
    • Headstock with simple M logo
    • Hipshot B style bridge with 17mm spacing
    • 34" scale and 45mm at the nut
    • Hipshot HB6C 1/2" tuners
    • Passive electrics with usual P bass volume and tone
    • Domed chrome knobs
    • Delano PC5 AL/M2 pickup
    • Weighs 3.7kg, just over 8lbs

This bass is super light and very well balanced for a 5 string P and sounds very, very as good as it looks!

Comes with original certificate and spec sheet and generic Chase hardcase. The bass is in great condition, there is a small scrape on the top of the headstock in the usual position, and there are some pick marks on the pickguard and minor swirls on body as you'd find on a black bass.

I replaced the chrome pickguard screws with black ones, but I can change them back if the buyer prefers. Currently strung with flats, but I have a new set of rounds I can put on if wanted instead. There is a 3D printed thumb rest attached by the pickguard screws which can be easily removed if desired.

Before I received this bass it was setup at the Bass Gallery, and it pretty much plays itself!

Pickup from Leeds is preferable, but I can post within the UK or drive a reasonable distance to meet up.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

The original owners for sale post is here for some more pics:

  6. Up for grabs is my Source Audio C4, it's in excellent condition and comes with the original box and all the accessory cables etc. Purchased from new around 6 months ago. Velcro on the bottom. Unfortunately this isn't getting used anywhere near it's full potential and I need to free up some funds so it needs to go.

Looking for £175 delivered to your door, or pickup in Leeds.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

Can you describe what the tone control does when it is in active mode, as I'm assuming the B & T controls are both working at the same time.  My head can't quite figure out what effect the tone control would have if you maxxed the bass, zero treble and then rolled off the tone (or vice versa).  Cheers

It works much like the 'vintage tone control' that Sadowsky have in their preamps. The treble of the preamp cuts (or boosts) at a certain frequency, whereas the tone knob will just roll off anything above a frequency. In practice, you could roll off the treble knob to get a mild treble cut and retain more mids (to my ears), or use the tone knob to get a 'deeper' more traditional treble roll off, both while allowing the bass to be boosted if you wanted. I hope that makes sense!

  8. Hi all, I'm selling my Human Base Roxy B5 to make space for an incoming Maruszczyk, so I need to free up some funds!

This is a lovely, resonant, and surprisingly versatile bass! The pickup switching and EQ is really powerful and it's pretty hard to get a bad sound. The low B is solid and strong. This is a pretty reluctant sale and will be sorely missed!

    - Swamp Ash Body

    - Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard

    - 24 frets and 34" scale

    - Nut width 45 mm

    - Highly adjustable string spacing at the bridge (can go from just under 17mm to just over 19mm)

    - Delano Xtender pickup

    - Series/parallel/single coil switch

    - Active Glockenklang 3-Band Preamp (treble knob is tone control in passive mode)

    - zero-fret

    - Gotoh 350 res-o-lite tuners

    - 4kg (8.8 lbs) on my luggage scales with great balance seated or on a strap

The condition is pretty good, there are some minor scratches on the pickguard and a little buckle rash on the back, but it's hard to see due to the finish. Comes with a padded Human Base gig bag.

I'm looking for £750 inc. UK postage. Happy to drive up to an hour away from Leeds to meet a potential buyer.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  9. Hi all,

I'm selling this lovely Sandberg Electra bass as I will have a Maruszczyk incoming soon, so I need to free up some funds. I got this last year from @Raslee who had it from new, and it's still in excellent condition!

It has a jazz width (37mm) neck which is incredibly comfortable to play, zero fret and can easily get a lovely low action. Since I've had the bass, I've made a couple of upgrades - I added some of Sandberg's own super light tuners which are incredibly smooth and have knocked the weight down to just under 8 lbs on my luggage scales and great balance on a strap or seated. The preamp now has active/ passive bypass, with a passive tone control that works in active and passive mode. The original 2 band bass and treble from the preamp have been moved to a stacked knob.

It has Sandberg's own P pickup which is great, I felt no need to upgrade this at all! I 3D printed my own thumb rest which can be easily removed if desired.

This is an insane instrument for the money, I was blown away by how good it is at this price point!

I'm looking for £450 inc. UK postage. Happy to drive up to an hour away from Leeds to meet a potential buyer. Comes with a padded gig bag.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

I'll include the link to the original listing (condition is the same!).
