That's it, if you picture your finger tips going straight forwards you'll see four lines rubbed, if hold you fingers flatter and move your hand at a diagonal to your fingers you'll see a larger area rubbed without getting lines.
It's not absolutely vital, just good practice to avoid rubbing lines into the surface with your fingers or a block edge.
Silver sparkle will be pretty forgiving on any ripples in the finish anyway so you'll be fine.
Silver will however really show up any scratches in the primer so make sure you finish you primer in a nice fine sandpaper, 800 would be OK but I I'd use 1000 wet just to be sure.
I can totally visualise the sanding action and the reason why. I really want a purple glitter so I guess it depends on what is available.
Make sure the primer layer is good and smooth, got it 😃 I don't expect to end up with a flawless finished article, but better than acceptable is the lower limit.

Thanks for the replies. I like the idea of the spray trigger.
Sanding at 45 degrees, I sort of get it. Just don't go straight forward. I guess I need to sand delicately and not just go at it! Slow and steady wins the race.

Damn! I'd forgotten about Ishibashi. I just had to go and look and found this.. oooh!
Just wonder what "The Original 1976 Precision fretless.." actually means. What ever, it's a beauty.

I just saw this on YTube and I just wanted to get a feel from those more capable members on here as to whether this seems viable and isn't just a bunch of video nonsense.
I have been wanting to glitter/sparkle refinish the bitsa P fretless I have but don't have the funds to pay a pro to do the job. Bare in mind I am a cack handed klutz and anything that could, will go wrong (i.e. falling face first on the final coat as it dries).
Whaddya think? Is it this straight forward?

Layla by Clappedout .. on and on and on
Oh yes and that atrocious Umbrella ella ella by whoever it was, particularly that part. That line is criminally bad.
That shocking "Irish" ditty by Sheeran. You know the one -
"I had a little fiddle with an Irish man
in the back of his Transit van.
I said you can do what ever you can,
then he hit me round the head with a frying pan."

Just another to add further props to Ashdown.
My Klystron Classic 500 head was in dire need of servicing when the gain pot started to play up . Spoke to Dave, shipped it back, it was given a thorough clean (I swear I did dust it.. once..), parts changed and all serviced and shipped back in no time. I have absolute faith in the brand and have no reason to ever change from them.

Two ups! Both at the same time.. not sure how, but half the fun would be figuring that out 😉👍

Since using a wireless set up on my bass I have not yet experienced another mic/lip tingle. It was one of the primary reasons for me to go wireless.

Uhmm.. sticking my neck out buuuut, I found the Foos to be rather boring. I guess only having an hour affected their set choice but I just feel it's always Dave talks, quiet intro, ramp it up, Dave shouts, bring it down, bit of improv, loud, shout, quiet, loud, shout, end. Next song, repeat previous. I dunno, I just found them a bit by numbers.
I did like the band intros though, Nate wallops out a bit of Beastie Boys and Pat gives us some God Save The Queen.

My old neighbour learned to play the didgeridoo at Glastonbury. Maybe it was the same person who taught him. We enjoyed him practicing in his garden in the evening for a while but after three weeks of two hours every evening it lost its appeal
Yes, they very soon become a Didjeridon't.

Yeah; I was surprised to hear the bassist introduced as Glen Matlock. He looked great for his age and history. Also a call out to Clem Burke; an amazing drummer who is still going strong.
It was sad to Debbie struggle so much with the vocals as the tunes still hold their own 40 years on, at least to this sad old git.
Clem is an absolute monster. I love his passion and energy.

He still looks uber cool.
And she sounds rotten, they’d be better off as an instrumental group.
She is and always has been one of those vocalists with decidedly questionable pitching. Still pretty iconic though.

I don’t know if I like them or not, but we’ve got tickets to see them in Manchester. Must remember to take my bobble hat.
Wouldn't that be great! If all the audience for their upcoming gigs wore bobble hats 😁

My old amp cover has just started to degrade. It's a foam backed vinyl and the foam is now turning to powder. It's lasted a good 10 years so fair enough. (I can't remember who made it. Black vinyl, white piping and it had a union flag stuck on the front corner).
Anyway, It looks like it's going to be a Roqsolid one but I was just wondering is there anything else a weekend warrior like myself should consider or just stick with my initial choice. (I want a protective soft cover, not a flight case).
Thanks
Mark

This is why you have to be careful what you post on a public forum. These comments could be interpreted a number of ways. Given that we don't know what will transpire when you visit the 'next show', if things escalate and the Police are called, you've already played your hand here. To be clear, I'm not defending MM. If half of what I've read is remotely accurate, then he deserves to be held to account for his alleged misdeeds.
You'd also be a fool to think he is not monitoring this thread.

Well let's hope he has a very twitchy sphincter before his next gig then.

During my 40 years of gigging, there were many a time I wanted to do this, but never had the courage. This bass player nails it on the double. For me he is one of the greats.
Nicely rehearsed.
The singer certainly has a unique stage presence....

I think this may be a "it'll happen one day" type project. Though maybe it would be better to do in the warmer weather.
