Got my 2nd SL112

Where are you based mate?

Thanks folks, I tried a mark bass lightweight 15 and it was brilliant, I mean really fantastic, but at the same time afterc30 years of playing bass the th500 sl112 is the best sound I have ever had. It may be because I spent years in rock bands where a 15 speaker was the deal, just wondering if anyone out there had cracked a 15 12 combination

I dont know if people think this is odd but i have a TH500 head through a SL112 and am almost ready to get a second SL112 but I really would like to add a 1x15 lightweight cab and am wondering whether to do this instead of the 2nd SL112. Any thoughts as to whether this would be a good option and if so which cab?

Hi, I have an Aguilar TH500 into a SL112 and would like to add a lightweight 15" cab, any thoughts?

Thanks dudewheresmybass, its a Gator Mega Bone, seems the perfect board at the moment, the B3 sits really nicely in the middle. I will probably play with the pedals some more, maybe add a wah at some stage

TH500 and SL112 - simples

715x are an absolute steal at the moment, £1300 new, £350 S/H. Take some work to find your sound but if you like that Trace tone they kick ass

Have now swapped the heads round and running the Trace 15" and the SL112 off the TH500, suits the Spector more

Hi folks, just an update. Got a Speakon to Jack connector for the TH500 and a Female to Female jack connector for the Trace and bingo it works fine. I now have a 15" extension cab if I need it as well as the combo and TH500/SL112. Thanks for your help

SL112s weight next to nothing

Many thanks folks. My Trace has a lead coming from the speaker to the amp head which plugs in to the head with a standard jack lead, I will try and find a suitable adapter

Seems a daft question but do speakons work either way in this respect?

Forget about it, we all make mistakes but if it sounds good for you you haven't made a mistake.......

I've run my Aguilar SL112 as an extension off my Trace Elliot 715X and it sounds fantastic. Has anyone else tried a 15 with a 12?

I just got a 715x secondhand and it is awesome. Loud and tight for a 15. Word of caution, I can see this sound not suiting some, I like Doug Wimbish/John Taylor sounds and this is perfect for those but I can imagine it being a bit in your face for some.

Could I run an Aguilar SL112 as an extension cab from a MarkBass Minicmd 151p, and would they be a good match?

Just got my MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe. Putting a big smile on my face, streets ahead of the Boss and EBS overdrives I've been using. Having lots of fun getting different sounds but best thing is how natural and (strangely) smooth it sounds. My first MXR pedal, will be checking out some others
