If you're after Stanley Clarke then clearly don't bother, but riffs to power the biggest band in the world are not to be sniffed at
You all have Spotify right? -
About the most personal choice you can make, not one for someone else to tell you. Try them out.
I use a Multicomp by the way -
And I paid HOW MUCH?????
-
No idea where it ranks in the "best" but I have the MXR M81 and it has done wonders for my sound
-
Aguilar I guess

Cannot accept the Adam Clayton hate here
He is a bass icon whether you like his playing or not, it's U2
I bet he was responsible for a large proportion of bass players here picking the instrument up in the first place (me included)
Listen to War, brilliant in your face bass, groovy, funky, rock solid
Half the attraction was that he wasn't technically perfect - U2 came out of punk don't forget
When he started taking lessons in the 2000s all the character disappeared from his playing - a damn shame
Ibanez should do a signature model of his 80s Musician, that's the iconic one (watch Red Rocks)
The green Jazz is a strange one, agreed, still want one though
If you could merge Adam and Doug Wimbish you would have the perfect bass player, Doug Clayton -
I started with a Legend 5 Custom which blew me away (particularly at the price).
Spector GAS ensued rapidly
Now also have a Spectorcore Fretless and (my dream bass) a Euro4LX Doug Wimbish Signature
Seriously thinking about finding a way to fund the Helium with the Aguilars....... -
Tube Screamer with a bit of chorus?
-
I've been daisy chaining from a Boss adapter for a while, no issues so far (not a guarantee though!!!!)
-
Beeeeeeautiful.
I have the DW Sig Euro4LX with the narrow neck, brings me back to my 80s Aria days, best bass I've ever played in 30 years- enjoy! -

Nice selection of toys!
Is that the gator bone?

Definitely Gator, came with a nice bag. Just feels so right! -
My board at present

Blimey, could have cried. Have a Stingray which is a gorgeous bass but this felt a world apart. Beautiful smooth neck, tone was powerful, I felt in charge. Had to wrestle with the mids on my TH500 but they made friends eventually. Had the Ibanez version 5 years ago which I loved but ultimately I guess you get what you pay for?

I have a spectorcore fretless which is one of the best basses I have ever played. Have three Spectors, love them all.

It was M'Fest at the show ground http://www.mfest.biz
-
It was Mirfield in Yorkshire and we got a really good reception.
-
Great fun, big stage, big PA, big crowd. Found myself concentrating more on my backing vocals than my bass playing though which was a new thing. Fold back was strange, just loads of bass but was well rehearsed so ok. Can't wait for the next!
-
That is seriously beautiful. If i hadn't just splashed on a Wimbish Signature i would be straight in there
-
If you can get a second hand tokai or aria that would be a good start and not too expensive
-
I feel like Nigel Tuffnel, "Don't even look at it"
-
BGM did a big feature on basses in this price range a few months ago
-
They take some controlling if you're used to less aggressive basses
-
Hope you'll change those strings!

Scared to touch it to be honest. Doug Wimbish signature.[attachment=161840:DW.JPG]
Aguilar Tonehammer 500 vs Little Mark iii (or any other suggestions?)
in Amps and Cabs

Both sound fantastic - the MB made me sound a certain way though if you see what I mean? The TH500 is very transparent and (to my mind) is better for those of us who prefer to use onboard eq.
