I've found a few cheat sheets on the internet over the years, free content ofcourse. It also includes a fretboard chart for harmonics I think, not entirely sure. As per advice I just got from another user here (Circle_of_Fifths), I think I'll try to get Mr East to leave the jack slot unaltered and instead give me a stacked knob so that I can have the J-retro deluxe on my squier.

I agree. I'm perfectly happy with the wood on my bass though. Extremely fine and smooth fretboard and really nice lloking finish and grain on the body. I'm not too picky.

Oh, btw, My Squier fretless sez 'Crafted in Indonesia'.

I was studying for Grade 5 back in 05 or 06 i think. RGT books. And then I saw the books for Rockschool that a friend of mine was going through. I really think the RGT books are a notch higher, and a lot more comprehensive, as Mr. Doddy has already mentioned. I loved the RGT books, they let you think a lot lot more. Am planning to start all over and write the exams by the end of this year. RGT anyday.

I think I've uploaded 1mb so far. But I will keep this in mind in the future. Keep up the wonderful work guys.

Because the tone knob on the Jon East J-Retro Deluxe occupies the spot where the jack is supposed to be. If don't make a new hole, where do I keep the jack?

Some looping. Some ebow. It all came out very well on Guitar Rig, I had used 3 delay pedals, some reverb and overdrive. Used a very old acoustic guitar. M not very good on guitar, but I didnt have my bass with me and I had to play anything I could get my hands on. I was too lazy to record all over so I left it as it was. I've never taught professionally per se, but thats how I went about teaching friends and folks who asked me. It helps to get a beginners bass book and work with them through it.

Lesson 1 - Freeing up your hands, left hand mostly. Show em the 1234 exercise. Ask em to play slow n easy. Explain what notes are, natural and accidental. And then jam with them a little. Lesson 2 - Variation in the above warmup exercise, String skipping, using a metronome. Lesson 3 - Depending on the progress so far, either intro to music theory or more finger exercises.

Ofcourse. I've tried that method you talk of, and I think its similar in approach to step 5. Wow, upright bass huh? I've always dreamt of playing one... Some day... sigh...

Jam with her for a while. Initial interest is very delicate, esp among kids. Reinforce that with support and company and she'll hold on to it for life. And once she shows consistency get her a teacher. Like in a few weeks. Get one now and might scare off. I tried teaching my kid brother 5 years ago. He ran away. Kids hate to practice, but they love to play. Yeah that and what these guys up here said.

Ok that file order is in reverse, but you get the drift. Hope all this helps, and hope you guys don't make the mistake of avioding theory for years, like I did. If you understand how it works, you always do a better job. I rarely follow the rules, but I always where and how I'm breaking them. Cheers!
