1. Just to clear a few things up. My original post wasn't the clearest. I was typing it out with half an eye on the apprentice!

For sale is the Fender P body. With Schaller bridge, tort guard and wizzard thumpers included. £120 posted UK.

I took the above pics with a standard US '97 jazz neck on with fender schaller tuners and a drop D hipshot ( Im giving this detail because I may move the neck on also)

I don't know the weight ( I'll ask the mrs if we have got any kitchen scales tonight ) but I know this body is lighter than my '97 Jazz body.

I originally put the bass together and added a jap 62RI jazz neck. Then I put the jap neck on my standard'97 US and a star was born.

Im selling to fund a passive jap 75RI body.

  2. Fender Jap body ( I won this on ebay for £70) last year. It was listed as Fender Jap and I assume it is although I cant see any stamps to prove 0r disprove this. Reasonable condition with one or two dinks that should show up on pictures. Body is light weight.

Brand new Wizzard Thumpers installed (£50)

    Tort scratch (£25 ebay)

Chunky Schaller bridge (£20 from this forum)

This can all be yours for £120 posted UK. I don't use it and have more Jazz gas.

    Cheers.

Im no expert on prices, but a MM are about £800 new give or take a few quid. Bodies and necks at Stratosphere on ebay loaded or not seem to be £400+ each. There stuff all seems to be Jap reissue and a few years old. Stratosphere stuff does seem expensive thats why mine is fully loaded and £100+ cheaper. I suppose they are big enough sellers to let them roll around until they get sold.

  4. Yes mate. I imagine my marcus neck on a jazz body with vintage pups and a baddass bridge would be my holy grail. I wont be happy until I try it. I never got on with active, Im too much of a noisy b£££££££d. Especially now with my Bergs my vintage jazz pups on ol' faithful sound great.

  5. My new rig has changed my perspective completely, MB SA450 and 2xAE 112 Bergs. I hardly use effects anymore, just a bit of wah and phlange when our 2 guitar players double up on keyboards and I am the only "guitar" on certain tracks. Im picking my lines more carefully and really enjoying my new found clarity in the mix. It has moved my playing on again which is always a good thing. By far the best sound I have got is through my bog standard 97 Jazz. I tried a super Nordy bass through it and although it was a lovely guitar wouldnt have swapped it for my old reliable jazz.

  6. One year old excellent condition MM body. You will all know about the spec and what they look like. The only thing missing will be the baddass bridge.

I haven't seen just a body for sale but found this at stratosphere.

I am interested to buy the full bass, so with a neck included.
Let me know if you want to sell it that way...
Will do. Thanks for interest.

More fool you. I am impressed you can spell liaison though.

  9.
Trade it for a P you nonce.

    :D

You still haven't forgiven me for fiddling with you when you were a child have you. :) Errr .... Its standard natural ash I believe. I suppose I would be open to some speculative trades but 4 strings only. Remember Im from West Bromwich, just like my mate Paul h before he was banished.

  10. I am really torn at the moment after putting a 62RI neck on my standard US jazz and falling in love with it all again. I have almost convinced myself that my Marcus Miller may need moving on. However I adore the neck on my Marcus, and I know it is a long shot but wondered if anyone wanted to trade or even buy the Marcus body. Sale of the body would basically mean that I would have the money to go towards a 75RI body from stratosphere in the states. If you have a body and want to go active then this might be for you. The bass is almost 12 months old and is in excellent condition as you would expect. Perhaps a Geddy owner who wants to go active may be interested?

Ive got this saved on my laptop. I haven't looked at it for ages but remember it being good when I had some neck problems.

  12. Danny Thompson has appeared on about the last 7 or 8 Richard Thompson albums. He has also been his main live player sice about the mid 90's. Some Thompson albums can be more electric than others if you know what I mean. Mirror Blue is a great mix and more bass fuelled album. Albums like Mock Tudor and Old kit bag more pop driven, if you could say that. Stuff like You, Me, Us??? and front parlour ballads a bit more self indulgent. Pre 90's stuff from memory will probably have Peggy on them. One thing for sure is that there is not one bad album in the whole of the RT collection. Enjoy.

Last time I saw Thompson who was using a big line 6 combo.
