1. Leighton Buzzard. I'll post it for an extra tenner.
2. Price drop. Any takers at £150?
3. Fully working set includes the Golden Bullet microphone, preamp/blender and stereo jack lead. It mixes the sound of the microphone with your pickup for very natural sounding results.
4. Hardly used, still with original wooden box and plenty of the putty for fixing it on. The original high end pickup/mic solution for double bass. Really great for getting a more natural sound than a piezo pickup at high volume. More info here http://www.contrabass.co.uk/schertler_dyn_set.htm
5. Hardly used Tonerite for double bass including original box and US to UK power adapter. It really does open up the sound of a double bass when you use it enough. Quite fascinating to experiment with. If you haven't heard of these there are details here https://www.tonerite.com/
6. I have a beautiful one for sale on this very forum, I'm in Leighton Buzzard, Beds.
7. The bass is in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, close to the M1.
8. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, close to the M1.
9. Quality modern (late 20th century) flatback Hungarian bass in perfect condition. It has never had any cracks although there are a few minor scuffs and scratches as it was used by a professional jazz bass player as his main instrument for 10 years on countless concerts and recordings. Clear and characterful sound. It may suit a slightly smaller player as it has a string playing length of 103cm. It has relatively deep ribs and very comfortable dropped shoulders. Currently setup with d'addario hybrid strings and an adjustable bridge. Please come and try it out. 10. A beautiful fully carved bass. Characterful, clear singing sound for jazz or classical. Currently setup with an adjustable bridge and Velvet Garbo strings. Used as a main instrument by a professional jazz bass player for the last 3 years for countless performances and recordings. There has been damage to the neck at some point which has been solidly repaired 3 years ago by Jerome Davies. Last setup by Laurence Dixon. It also features a small wound on the ribs (which has been repaired by Laurence Dixon) where it was kicked by Lady Gaga in performance at Ronnie Scott's https://www.youtube....h?v=63yKaKgNRF0 Playing string length 108cm, Eb neck, very comfortable shoulders. Please come round and try it out.
11. Removable neck 4 string version with flight case. Good condition, just a couple of dings in the varnish round the edges. It is a great bass, really nice acoustic sound, perfect for practicing in a hotel room, sounds just like a double bass when plugged in. Perfect for travelling on planes, just pack it the golf club flight case and chuck it in the hold. I am only selling it because I have got into playing hired basses when abroad. Also easy for gigs on the train, squeezing in a car etc.
12. Yes, in my experience, the Yamaha is the closest feeling to a double bass apart from Mo's brilliant invention. I have an Eminence for sale which, I believe, is the closest sound-wise. It feels slightly more vertical than a real upright but the lack of knee contact is not a problem as the bar on the bottom of the end pin prevents any rotation. You get used to it quickly and it feels like a real acoustic instrument with proper (if slightly light) attack, worlds away from anything with a solid body. Contact me if you are interested. I will be posting an advert shortly. I am in Bedfordshire.
