Some kind of silver stilettos, very pointy!

Beautiful old bass. I believe it is 1880s German. Great sound and feel. It should be worth more than this but it is an Eb neck which seems to be out of vogue in the UK. It has also suffered damage to the neck (close up picture)at some point which has been repaired with internal screws and glue which have held solid for the 5 or so years that I have had it. Repair by Jerome Davies who I bought it from. Last set up and repair by Laurence Dixon after an incident at Ronnie Scott’s where Lady Gaga kicked a small hole in the side (close up picture). Complete with bridge adjusters. I am selling it now purely because I have far too many basses.

1994 (I think) Warwick Fortress One 5 string in perfect condition with one careful owner from new. I have mostly been playing double bass since about 1996 so it has spent many years sitting in a case. Feels and sounds great. I have just finally admitted I don't really need it any more.

Quality modern (late 20th century) flatback Hungarian bass in perfect condition. It has never had any cracks although there are a few minor scuffs and scratches as it was used by a professional jazz bass player as his main instrument for 10 years on countless concerts and recordings. Clear and characterful sound. It may suit a slightly smaller player as it has a string playing length of 103cm. It has relatively deep ribs and very comfortable dropped shoulders. Currently setup with d'addario hybrid strings and an adjustable bridge. Please come and try it out. Removable neck 4 string version with flight case. Good condition, just a couple of dings in the varnish round the edges. It is a great bass, really nice acoustic sound, perfect for practicing in a hotel room, sounds just like a double bass when plugged in. Perfect for travelling on planes, just pack it the golf club flight case and chuck it in the hold. I am only selling it because I have got into playing hired basses when abroad. Also easy for gigs on the train, squeezing in a car etc.
