  1. Just seen this..Remember from Back in the Day!! lol🙈🙊🤣 Definitely an early Passion with a carbon neck..but most surprising to me, only two control knobs!! @ 2.42 in video.. mind you, my eyesight..Ironically enough on www.leboncoin.fr there is an early Vigier Passion Jazz as described for saleIMG_20210422_181423.thumb.jpg.d453b2d655116a1f58edf6c234622efb.jpgIt's Been on the market for a few years I believe? at 1000 Euros..Needs abit of touch up work to the Headstock and neck..but definitely a wooden neck as on my old Arpege series 1, plus it's a non active bass..I have thought about this a few times but cannot set up a leboncoin account, not through lack of trying, believe I need a French phone number..Fortunate to own a January 86 Passion 11 bass, and it does have as @ped our man all things Vigier😃👍👍 rightly says has wider horns and the start of the 2nd ,generation Benedetti single coil pickups..

As others have said, definitely a mid-90s bass, and none the worse for that! I have the twin of your Passion (pic from the ad I bought it from). Beautiful instrument, if a little Citroen DS in its controls…:-)

Wow what a collection! She looks right at home 😊 Agree with everything you’ve said, I’d recommended these basses to anyone without hesitation, just a joy to play.

Now I think you just need to find a series 1 to complete the set! 😉

Ironically enough Tom! There is a Series 1 passion bass for sale in Paris...

    www.leboncoin.fr

Now decorating the living room, was the deal breaker, to let me own this stunning  bass!! A weekend in Paris, hotel, meals flights etc, etc. My better half would love that too, alas the keeper of the purse, say's NO!!!🤣😃👍

So I don't believe in my ten years plus on this forum, I have not started a topic header!  Abit remiss I know!

So to quote Jilted John "Here we go, 11, 111, 1V!"

So in the last week I have bought from @CookPassBabtridge a wonderful Vigier Passion 1V.  4 string.. I am in, the very, very fortunate position of owning a few Vigiers.. A passion series 11 with the all carbon neck, 1986. A series 111 passion custom with 10/90 graphite wood neck 1992. Plus this recent 2020 series 1V..

What they all have in common, it the amazing craftsmanship of Patrice Vigiers team of luthiers..outstanding..

The playability and action on any Vigier Passion I have played, is as good as I have found in my nearly forty years of playing/trying (lol) of bass..

They are a niche market for sure..That said, I would say those in the know, know how good they are..

So now I have a series 1V. passion.I had in 2014  A series 1V Arpege, but found the Glokenklang 3 band controls for each pick up, to much for myself personally, and I could not get used to the bolt on neck on this model, compared to the early series basses through neck versions..

The Passion 1V has a more simple layout of bass/middle/treble controls, and is very easy to dial in your sound compared to the series 111/111 basses with thier parametric control and cut/boost switch and tone control. The new Vigier pickups quieter than the wonderful single coil Benedetti ones..which are in my humble opinion still AMAZING!!!. Access to all the 24 frets easy on the series 1V a breeze. Action as good as ever on this bass..If you like a super low action, you will find a Vigier hard to beat! Neck profile super slim on all three series of these basses..but the passion 111 the slimmest..possibly more than an Ibanez soundgear! (Is that possible! lol) Obviously no truss rod which to some may take abit of getting used too..All the three series of basses have an almost totally straight neck with the slightest of slight concave shape..no deadspots whatsoever on the phenolic fingerbords..

if you ever get a chance to play a Vigier seize the moment👍😃

  5. I have just bought Tom's wonderful Vigier Passion 1V bass!!!👍😃

Absolute gentleman to do business with..Exactly as described, and as in, as new condition..Tom did a wonderful job on the bombproof packing!! Best of all Tom sent the bass in a lovely hardcase, and managed to put in the genuine Vigier gig-bag in the box as well.. Cannot thank you enough Tom..

This is the newest, and most expensive bass I have ever bought! Tom has added to the whole experience..Great communications throughout..

Last  new bass I bought, Was my great Westone Thunder 1A in 1984!! (Showing my age here..lol)

Highly recommended to to do business with😃👍👍

  6. Hi Folks.

Up for sale here, we have a wonderful handbuilt bass, by master luthier Roman Koc of GMR in Poland.

Overall condition is very good, A few dings here and there on the back of the body..

    34 inch scale.

    38mm nut.

Lightweight, I  don't have scales but less than 4Kg

Transparent Black Flame maple top and headplate.

3 piece flame maple neck with walnut stringers.

    Maple fretboard.

    Black Ash body..

    Delano jazz pickups.

    Nordstrand 2 band preamp, 9V

    Active/passive, push/pull volume control.

    Balance control.

    Bass control.

    Treble control.

    ABM bridge.

    Gotoh style tuners.

    Semi rigid case.

The bass plays and sounds fantastic.

Mega punchy, with slim and fast neck profile..

non original truss rod cover..one small screw missing on bridge, to hold saddle in place..but doesn't move..can be replaced..

GMR basses don't come up that often for the simple reason they are that good..I also have a GMR bassforce 4 string which is going nowhere!!.lol

    This is a bargain price!

    Any questions please ask..

    Cheers

  7. I've just got an 2020 Sire M2 Marcus Miller bass, for the sum of £150 and it has all the qualities and playability as my vintage 1990 thumb bass, but maybe not the class....So best of both worlds..
