1. Reminds me of just after Christmas last year. Phoned up the local GuitarGuitar.

Me : Hi, I'm wondering if you have the Boss GT-10B in stock?
GG : yes, I'm fairly sure we have it in stock
Me : Would you mind checking? I just don't wish to come all the way into Glasgow to be told it's not in stock.
GG : Sure *minute or so later* Yes we have it in stock.

so I drag myself on the bus and the train it takes for me to get there (a good 5/6 quid on travel). Arrive at the shop to be told they don't have it in stock. Popped to the other local music shop (Merchant City Music for those interested) and they had one in stock and even gave me it at £290 because of their online price match policy.

Now come on ... everyone on here will just find this normal behaviour ;)

Indeed, I feel the last time I just looked at the guitarist was when watching Animals as Leaders...and part of that reasoning is because they have no bassist!

It was that or a man putting clay on his face and farting.

It's never too late to post the second video!

I use a pick and have never had any complaints over my playing.
Surely what matters more is what the player is more comfortable using?
The way I see it is it's the sound that matters. Play the song with your cock for all I care, if it sounds good it sounds good!

On that note, playing with your knob would be fairly impressive.

5. I've never used a pick, I just Feel slightly limited when I use one (plus they hurt my hand/wrist). Justin Chancellor is a massive inspiration of mine and he uses a pick. Loads of great players use them just personally I don't enjoy using one. I think a lot of people just assume because they use one they can't play with fingers, which is just silly

Myung is decent.. haven't heard of the others.
Can't stand the keyboards in early Dream Theater though..

..sorry if I'm ignorant, but from what I've heard, most mainstream/semi mainstream metal has pretty simple bass.

I can see why people wouldn't be a big fan of Myung (I know I'm not). I will agree 100% about most mainstream metal is pretty simple, especially on bass. Check out 'Currency' by Evan Brewer. I would embed a link but I cant on my phone. It's a great song, at least to me it is, definetly a talented guy!

-that guy in Korn
-that guy in Avenged Sevefold
-that guy in the Deftones (can't even hear him half the time)

TL;DR pretty much every metal bassist besides the 2 from Tool..

John Myung? Ryan Martinie? Arif Mirabdolbaghi? Evan Brewer? Alex Webster?

Metal has some insane talent! Arif and Ryan being the main two who's style stand out to me, should check them out if you haven't already, some brilliant basslines...

Not a glamour post, and there are thousands I've never tried, but... The fancier Ibanez SRs just look like loads of fun and sound great.

I'd love a go - but would I be a brand snob... ?
I've never really played many 'boutique' basses (or basses in general for that matter! But I've played a fair amount of the higher end SR's and I really enjoyed them!

That made me laugh out loud.

But then, this makes me fall off my chair laughing too:

I think I laughed at that more than I should have too.
