Reminds me of just after Christmas last year. Phoned up the local GuitarGuitar.

Me : Hi, I'm wondering if you have the Boss GT-10B in stock?
GG : yes, I'm fairly sure we have it in stock
Me : Would you mind checking? I just don't wish to come all the way into Glasgow to be told it's not in stock.
GG : Sure *minute or so later* Yes we have it in stock.

so I drag myself on the bus and the train it takes for me to get there (a good 5/6 quid on travel). Arrive at the shop to be told they don't have it in stock. Popped to the other local music shop (Merchant City Music for those interested) and they had one in stock and even gave me it at £290 because of their online price match policy.

I can't fall for them, even if I wanted to I have no money.

Indeed, I feel the last time I just looked at the guitarist was when watching Animals as Leaders...and part of that reasoning is because they have no bassist!

Can email or text photos. Just not been on my computer for a while (and won't until Monday). Shall put photos on here soon though

I just think if it makes a noise and the player happy, so be it. It's the sound that matters not how it was achieved.

I've never liked NME, this pushes my dislike of them further.

For me it's impossible to say what a favourite bassline would be, there are so many I like that can put me in different moods so it's too hard to narrow any down.

Anything by B.C Rich i.e. anything dangerously spiky. Every fender excluding the Jazz aerodyne and Any Rickenbacker, I'm just not a fan of the tone in the slightest.

You maybe have a hidden-undeveloped phobia of odd numbers, I believe that's why I can't get along with 4 or 6 strings...

I actually prefer 5er's, part of it could be just because it's all I've played for maybe a year and a half but I prefer having the string spacing closer. A few times (generally if it required slapping) I've felt like more space between strings would be good but nothing some practice cant sort!

The way I see it is it's the sound that matters. Play the song with your cock for all I care, if it sounds good it sounds good!

Me neither, it's actually pretty funny watching me try, it's as if I suddenly lose all coordination between both hands

I've never used a pick, I just Feel slightly limited when I use one (plus they hurt my hand/wrist). Justin Chancellor is a massive inspiration of mine and he uses a pick. Loads of great players use them just personally I don't enjoy using one. I think a lot of people just assume because they use one they can't play with fingers, which is just silly

I can see why people wouldn't be a big fan of Myung (I know I'm not). I will agree 100% about most mainstream metal is pretty simple, especially on bass. Check out 'Currency' by Evan Brewer. I would embed a link but I cant on my phone. It's a great song, at least to me it is, definetly a talented guy!

Sheenan just hits notes as fast as possible in my mind (and in comparison to a lot of metal bands) isn't even close to being as fast. Never liked his playing in the slightest.

Metal has some insane talent! Arif and Ryan being the main two who's style stand out to me, should check them out if you haven't already, some brilliant basslines...

I've never really played many 'boutique' basses (or basses in general for that matter! But I've played a fair amount of the higher end SR's and I really enjoyed them!
