  1. Hi all, I am a bass player and i am looking for a new challenge, converting first an ordinary bass to piccolo, and even better, using later a short scale semi acoustic bass with a large body ( like a Gibson ES335) with piccolo strings. The result was even better with heavy jazz guitar strings Tuning EADG . I really like it. It has a jazzy semi acoustic sound. The only thing i miss are the upper 2 strings B and E.( for playing chords) Tuning it DGBE was less good, the bottom was missing ( i am a bass player) Perhaps looking for a 6- string guitar with extra wide neck? The starting point was the problem that the string spacing on an ordinary 6 string guitar is too narrow for me. I don' t like the baritone sound, I prefer a semi acoustic jazz guitar sound for jazz and funk music! Any suggestions? Thanks mates!
  2. These basses were made with the same pickup configuration as an original Fender Jazzbass, with either 60'ies or 70'ies Pu spacing. The difference between the two configurations is a different sound: 70' ies Jazzbasses had the rear pickup closer to the bridge . 70'ies Jazzbasses have 4.0 " spacing from center to center pickup, whereas 60'ies Jazzbasses have only 3.6" spacing ( 10 cm vs 9 cm) it's only 1 cm difference, but that makes a difference in sound :-) Could you please check this? Thanks man.
  3. Hi, what about the PU spacing? How many millimeters is the rear Pickup away from the bridge? How much is the distance between the center of both pickups? Thanks man.

  7. Trust me, this bass is completely original, it has as much lacquer on the body and on the back of the neck as my 70'ies P bass and my 78'Marcus Miller like heavy ash-maple neck Jazz Bass. Perhaps the pics do not really show this.......the lacquer skin is there
