1.
Well, just look at it and then decide....... :)
very funny, that made me laugh!

either way, who am i to judge...

  2. Well, i ordered some closed covers from the link below for the Thumper from Wizard and guess what... they are too small, by about 2mm all around - at a squeeze the Thumper would go in but not without putting quite a bend in the sides of the covers, and the possibility of cracking the plastic

the Thumper did however fit perfectly into the normal open covers of my 1977 Aria II Precise Bass where it now resides

    Oh well, nothing ventured....

  3. Are Wizard pickups loose inside the covers or are they sealed in wax or whatever?

I asked them if they would make a set with closed covers and the answer was no - so i'm wondering if i can source my own closed covers and simply pop the pickups into them...

  4.
I also have a P/J set on another bass that sound great and are really well matched (not much of a volume drop when both pickups full on)
Nice one Opticaleye - what's the winding on your PJ set to keep the vol that way with both pups on?

  5.
There doesn't appear to be any images of basses on the site never mind the Ray! Oh and please... a tad insulting having an image of a Spector guit*r instead of a bass when you click on the Spector bass link! :)
Yeah, they haven't had a Spector bass in the shop for ages - the chap that does the admin on the site posted the Spector guitar (!) - i'm going through it over the next week or two to sort out that kind of slackness

There's a link for basses on the specials page - under the line that says 'Specials - Electric Guitars'

  6. Here's the link for the 77 Ray in the Oxford Guitar Gallery - this is a nice one indeed, i should know i take the photos for the OGG website specials pages, so get to play them all :)
